Keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

Kindly show me photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Kindly take biod3 max 1 tab dailyx10 paracetamol 250mg od & sos x5days do back (spine)/shoulder/knee exercises make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take do not ignore it. It could be beginning of a serious problem. If no relief in 4_5 days, then contact me again.

Do have movement for every 3 hours of 10 minutes do take ift and laser therapy for pain relief for 7 days regularly followed by strengthening exercise from physiotherapist best wishes.

Do take ift and laser therapy for 12 days followed by strengthening and stretching exercises from neuro physiotherapist apply hot and cold water fomentation for thrice a day for 10 days regularly do revert for further assistance best wishes.

Hello Lybrate user,  Back pain that is associated with day time sedentary jobs like computer professional s are associated with paraspinal muscle spasms. The best way to tackle this sort of pain is to do well spaced Stretching exercises of the back, back extension exercises, using hot water bags to provide relief and avoiding stooping posture while sitting. Posture also plays a very important part in back pain, always maintain a straight posture while sitting. While getting up from the bed try to first go on your left or right side of the body and get up side ways. Avoid Cruntches or Sit-ups: they may increase the pressure on your back and may predispose to Slip Disc. Always maintain a healthy Lifestyle in terms of regular brisk walking, meditation, eating healthy. P. S: Try to avoid pain killers (Analgesics) as much as possible as many are associated with Side effects that you may not be aware of. Stay Healthy. Stay Happy God bless you.

I had BPH problem and my age is 36. Usually I had realised pain at right side back. During travel I had pain as well when I slept in bed I had pain on back hip especially right side. Whether such problems due to BPH only otherwise kidney too.

Bph is nog common at this age. Secondly your symptons are not because of bhp even if it there. For back and hip pain consult orthopedic surgeon.

Hello, yes it's absolutely normal to have pains when you start working out for a week. Later your body gets accustomed to the work you are putting it through. So don't just stop due to the pains. Stay well.

I was leading a very active life. I used to play badminton continuously for 2 hours and never felt any problem. Suddenly one day I felt pain in my knee. Thinking it due to overuse of my muscles, I took ARNICA 1M 2-3 doses followed by BRYONIA 1M and RHUS TOX 1M on fortnightly basis. Now I got it checked and I am told that is early arthritis. PLEASE ADVISE. My thirst, hot cold liking etc are normal.

If you have trouble only in the first few movements and then you can walk properly, then take Rhus Tox 30C. If you cannot move at all or slightest motion cause you pain, then take Bryonia 30C. If you can't move and cannot bear it to be touched at all. And there is a bruised feeling, then take Arnica 30C. If all this doesn't help, then consult a homeopath for proper prescription.

Dear lybrate-user Spondylisis is an ailment affecting the vertebrate. In this the distance between the vertebrate/spinal bones is affected and it may cause pinching of the nerves going to the arms, back, chest. This is not an ailment of the heart. You need to evaluate the intensity of problem, take adequate medicines to reduce inflammation; start adequate exercises and simple massages that may correct the spinal alignment. Hello, is there any history of injury or hurt to the area? any underlying medical condition? medication: meantime, take homoeopathic medicines - arnica 200 and rhus tox. 200 - take both of them thrice daily for 1 month. Also, apply schwabe's topi-arnica and topi mp gel on the affected area in circular motions gently thrice a day. And wrap crepe bandage over it. Get back to me thereafter. *****in spite of taking these medicines, if there is no improvement, probable cause could be psyhcological, will have to rule out****
