What is the reason of malaria and what is the methods for control it? Please Tell me.

AUTLS, CCEDM, MD - Internal Medicine, MBBS
General Physician, Faridabad
Malaria is a life-threatening disease transmitted through bite of anopheles mosquito infected with a plasmodium parasite. The parasites travel to the liver, where they mature and infect red blood cells. Symptoms of malaria develop within 1-4 weeks following the infection.like: high fever with shaking chills profuse sweating headache nausea/vomiting diarrhea/bloody stools anemia muscle pain seizures coma Dragging heavy sensation in abdomen(Enlarged spleen). Symptoms may appear in cycles. Episodes of symptoms may occur every 48 hours in infection with P. Vivax or P. Ovale. This cycle of symptoms is also one of the major signs that you are infected with malaria. P. falciparumdoes not usually cause a regular, cyclic fever.Infection with this species is more serious and life threatening.. Treatment drug choice and duration depends on the strain you are infected with..treatment options include chloroquine/primaquine/quinine/artesunate based on your body weight to be taken under strict medical supervision. A single or multiple blood smears are prepared by lab to diagnose it.Rapid test to diagnose malaria are also available.Other tests that may be required include: liver function tests, to check for liver damage or CBC to check for anemia . To prevent mosquito bites, follow these guidelines: Stay inside when it is dark outside, Wear protective clothing (long pants and long-sleeved shirts). Use insect repellents with DEET (N,N diethylmetatoluamide). Use bed nets (mosquito netting) Use flying-insect spray indoors around sleeping areas. Avoid areas where malaria and mosquitoes are present

How To Cure Infertility Through Ayurvedic Herbs?

Infertility is a medical condition which is characterised by problems in successful conception, even after prolonged and frequent unprotected sex amongst a couple. Infertility may occur due to problems with either the male, the female partner and in many cases both of them. This condition can cause much strife in a relationship not just within the individuals but also be a cause for social embarrassment. The causes of infertility could be-

  1. Testicular injury or deformed testis,

  2. Irregular menstrual periods,

  3. Problems with erections,

  4. Uterus is ill-shaped,

  5. premature ejaculation,

  6. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome,

  7. Pelvic inflammatory diseases caused by Sexually transmitted infections such as gonorrhea and Chlamydia,

  8. Scanty sperm count,

  9. Thyroid disorders,

  10. Blockage of the fallopian tube.

Other lifestyle related reasons could be excessive alcohol consumption, aging, diabetes, obesity, high pressure and as a side effect of radiation therapy or other medications.

Ayurveda and Infertility-

According to Ayurvedic scriptures, infertility occurs when there is a deficiency of nutrients in the Shukra Dhatu of an individual. This might occur as a result of indigestion and excessive toxic content in the human body. This could be caused due to excessive consumption of spicy foods or if they have chronic stress or anxiety. The Ayurvedic remedies boost the nutrition of the Shukra Dhatu in order to boost fertility. The most potent Ayurvedic herbs which can cure infertility are as follows:

  1. A prescribed consumption of the powder of dried banyan bark along with sugar might help to cure infertility.

  2. The inclusion of cumin and turmeric powder in regulated dosages in your daily food might also help to facilitate fertility.

  3. A consumption of the root of the herb Ashwagandha for 3 times a day has also been shown to be beneficial.

  4. A daily consumption of the powder of Vanari Kalpa in warm milk might help in curing any problems related to the ejaculation of semen.

  5. Consuming a mixture of the powder of Vrushya vati in warm milk, it might help to increase the sperm count.

  6. The consumption of Ayurvedic preparation of phalasarpi (a mixture of the herbs Kustha, manjistha, Triphala, tagara, haldi etc.) might help to deal with the problems of infertility in women.

  7. Yoga also has many effective asanas or poses which help boost both male and female fertility and thus may help in correcting infertility caused due to physical factors such as injuries or deformities.

  8. Changes in lifestyle also have to be brought in such as quitting smoking, reducing alcohol consumption among others.

Hi. I am 25 years old girl. I want some weight gain. Cox I am only 48 kg. How it is possible during 3months.

MSc
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Chandigarh
Hi lybrate user to gain weight you need to combine a balanced eating pattern with regular physical activity. You should be eating at least 6 small meals a day, rather than sticking to 3 square meals. You could divide it as 3 main meals and 3 snacks. You need to be eating every 2-3 hours. Space out snacks during the day so you don't spoil your appetite. Bread, cereal, rice, whole wheat, dalia and pasta: biscuits, and corn-bread are good sources of carbohydrates. Fruits: dried fruits, fruit nectars, and large quantities of fresh fruits vegetables: include, potatoes, peas, corn in your diet. Meat, poultry, fish, dry beans, eggs, and nuts: beef, pork, lamb, poultry, salmon, omelets, nuts, peanut butter, kidney beans, chickpeas will help you gain weight. Include dairy products like milk, yogurt, and cheese: milk, fruited yogurts, hard cheeses, ice cream, puddings, custards, milkshakes. -nuts and seeds make a healthy option for snacks. -roasted channas and peanuts are good -peanut butter on the sandwiches are a great mid-meal choice. -you must know that cereals actually contain some healthy calories. Stay hydrated: drinking plenty of water and other fluids like juices, milk, soups etc, will work in your favour. Do not drink water before a meal and in between the meal as it may make you lose your appetite, thus calorie intake suffers. Sleep: at least 8 hours of sound sleep is a must. Since your body is actually building up muscles, while you rest. Weight gainers have long term side effects.

I have small white balls in my hairs and hair fall from the roots to in past 3 months I lost my 20 per hairs.

Vaidya Visharad

Avoid combing hair with fine-toothed combs when wet. Although this is a tempting practice as hair straightens and de-tangles much easily if combed when wet, this is a common cause of breakage. The stress on the hair shaft is immense when the hair is wet resulting in weakened hair roots.

As you know well ,Epileptic drugs should not be stopped suddenly, If higher doses are no longer required, Doses are tappered graduall, under guidance of Neurologists. in most cases chances of recurrence are low .but it also depends upon the type & cause of epilepsy.
