I am having pain in my right side of kidney for 2-3 days. But it's not that much high a little bit only for sometime....
1. Avoid tea, coffee, alcohol, cold drinks, pickles, fish, poultry, meat, spinach, and chocolate. 2. Avoid sour, heavy, and dry food. 3. Increase intake of liquids like water, juice, soup, lime water lemon soda etc. 4. Be sure to drink enough water each day. Usually 1 to 2 liters of water per day is adequate. 5. Drink more if you are perspiring heavily, working outdoors, the weather is hot, etc. 6. Increase the use of barley, horse gram (a type of bean), ginger, and brown rice or parboiled rice. 7. Avoid suppressing urges to urinate and defecate. 9. Boil 10-12 basil leaves in 1 cup of water for 15 minutes. Mix 1 teaspoon of honey in it and take twice a day. Pls send ur USG report becoz medication for stones depends upon size number and location of stones and can be given after USG.

Hello, Thanks for he query. To reduce high creatinine it is essential to achieve a strict blood pressure control and if diabetes is present then blood glucose should also be controlled effectively. Protein intake should be reduced to 0.6 g/kg per day. No non vegetarian food should be given. Excess physical activity should not be carried out. Drinking plenty of water does help. But care should be taken that patient should not be having body swelling or high BP. Thanks.

depending upon the size and site of radio opaque shadow, if it small in 2 to 3 mm or so this may be residual stone particle and it will pass spontaneously, if larger than 8mm then that may require procedure again, take plenty of fluids orally.

Avoid milk and tomato in diet, because these contain calcium which increases chance of stones, and drink lots of water (at least 10-12 glass in a day). For medical treatment of removal of stones and stop the recurrence you can consult me.

I have a urinary problem. There are certain drops left even after I finish urinating. Is this a serious matter?
Hello, as you are pretty young guy, the possibility of low pressure or residual urine can be the cause. To rule out other possibilities, get your urine tested and an ultrasound done. Also, practice pelvic floor exercise or kegel exercise, consists of repeatedly contracting and relaxing the muscles that form part of the pelvic floor.

Overactive Bladder - Is There A Solution?

Urologist
Urologist, Gurgaon
Overactive Bladder - Is There A Solution?

A large number of women visit the doctor for common ailments like involuntary urination or incontinence, which occurs due to weakening of the sphincter muscles around the urethra. An overactive bladder is an embarrassing as well as an annoying condition and it comes in forms like urinary urgency, urge incontinence, nocturia and frequency. Yes, there are solutions to this problem and the main solution that can be adapted is a change in lifestyle.

Imperative tips to follow to treat an overactive bladder

  1. It is very important that the diet pattern be changed and food items as well as drinks that worsen the condition be avoided.
  2. It is best to avoid spicy food, especially those that contain hot peppers. Citrus fruits like grapefruit, orange and tangerine must be avoided; tomato products and tomato paste must be avoided.
  3. It is also best to avoid alcoholic beverages and even drinks that contain caffeine.
  4. It is important to maintain a healthy diet. To improve bladder problems, it is obligatory that food products that contain more fiber are included in the diet.
  5. These fibrous food items could include whole wheat bread, fresh fruits, cereals and beans. To maintain bowel regularity, it is very important that women follow a regular exercise program.

Women must take charge of their treatment and it is most important that before taking any medication, they must make behavioral modifications. It is important to record the input of the fluid consumed as well as to keep a check on the number of times they urinate. Women must not only maintain a healthy weight, but also quit smoking. Smoking cigarettes can irritate the muscles of the bladder and excess coughing can lead to leakage of urine. Non-irritating fluids that can improve the bladder condition can be taken 3-4 times in a day; so it is best to avoid beverages that are acidic or caffeinated. The techniques that would help you to control an overactive bladder can be learnt under the guidance of a doctor to decrease the urge to urinate.

Consult your doctor for medications to treat an overactive bladder. Some doctors even prescribe certain medications to treat an overactive bladder and these include anticholinergics. These drugs help to control the muscle spasms, which mainly lead to an overactive bladder. The most common anticholinergics recommended by doctors are solifenacin, oxybutynin, fesoterodine, propantheline and dicyclomine. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Urologist.

You are likely to pass spontaneously in urine. You may get pain during passage. You should take plenty of oral fluids (3 to 4 l/day) in spaced intervals. Also check your blood calcium, uric acid and phosphorous. Reduce protein intake like mutton and fish. Avoid high oxolate foods like spinch.
