There is no cure for herpes. Antiviral medications can, however, prevent or shorten outbreaks during the period of time the person takes the medication. In addition, daily suppressive therapy (i. E. Daily use of antiviral medication) for herpes can reduce the likelihood of transmission to partners. There is no permanent cure for herpes. Antiviral medications can, however, prevent or shorten outbreaks during the period of time the person takes the medication. In addition, daily suppressive therapy (i. E. Daily use of antiviral medication) for herpes can reduce the likelihood of transmission to partners. Several clinical trials have tested vaccines against genital herpes infection, but there is currently no commercially available vaccine that is protective against genital herpes infection. This is from the cdc website and all the doctors in the world follow these guidelines for herpes. If anyone is claiming that herpes is curable, that means it is false information.

Thank you for your question. Fibroids are very common in women of reproductive age. One in five women under the age of 35 and one in 3 over the age of 35 have fibroids. About 50% will suffer with problems like bleeding or pain or difficulty conceiving. The cause is unknown although genetics and ethnicity may play a role. Fibroids tend to increase in women with excess estrogen e.g those with PCOD, obesity, external estrogens. Other risk factors which are not proven are phytoestrogens (usually in soya products), coffee, mass produced milk and milk products, diabetes (cause not known), sedentary lifestyle and raised visceral fat. so it won't be just your diet. You also need regular exercise, rest and stress relief to stop them growing. Fibroids tend to grow during pregnancy and regress with menopause. Your doctor will be able to guide you better. Please don't hesitate to clarify your doubts. best wishes

I am 20 years old female. Skin of the boundary or my vaginal opening is out grown and dark from one side though I don't have any health issues there and it has always been like that! Is it abnormal? Should I go to doctor? And which type of doctor?

PhD Human Genetics
Sexologist,
It appears to me that you are referring to the inner lips of the vulva (thin, dark folds of skin that stretch out on either side of the vaginal opening). If I guessed right, then they are absolutely normal. They are darker than the rest of the skin. However, rather than speculating, I encourage you to get examined by a doctor (gynecologist) and get clarified. Getting the genitals examined once a year or whenever any symptoms occur will do great help to your health.

On 24th June 2017, My dad advised my mom that he felt some swelling under lower abdominal and upper right thigh. Mom did some ideas massage (pain relief gel) but it was not worthful. On 1st July 2017, we went to our local hospital (Pahwa Hospital, Ludhiana, India), we met with a Doctor (MBBS, MD), he checked and advised to do Ultra sound test, CT Scan and Needle test. On 5th of July 2017, the local doctor advised me after seeing the reports, he has cancer and he recommended to go to the renowned oncologist in Ludhiana (forte hospital). On 11th of July 2017, dad was so weak that he could not stand, could not walk and he could not speak properly. So, we went to a known hospital where they gave antibiotics, paracetamol, glucose drips. In the CBC blood report, blood infection came out. After the antibiotics treatment, the fever is under control now. From yesterday, dad right leg is swelled from lower abdomen to the knee. All the things happened after needle test NFCA (fever, and more hard swelling). He can not move his right leg properly, he feels weak and sometimes pain in right leg. I read online that it is superficial Thrombophlebitis, anti-inflammatory tablets, cream, and gels can be applied or taken to reduce any pain Hope, my written details will give you enough idea regarding the problem. I am attaching all the reports with x-rays phone clicks and patient swelling leg photos. Please advise, to reduce the pain and swelling. Thanks.

The breast is made up of glands and fatty tissues .Since fat determines the size of the breast you can conclude that the one way to enlarge your breasts may be to put on more weight .If you are underweight, having foods rich in proteins and carbohydrates may help. Creams of sex hormones such as estrogen have been massaged into the breast but without success. Plastic surgery or silicone injections are not recommended as they leave the breasts very hard and stone like. It is wise to not interfere with nature. If you feel too self conscious about your figure wear a well padded, wired bra .Above all, remember that your bust size does not define who you are. A healthy body and a bright mind are far more attractive than the most perfect vital statistics.

My wife delivered a baby 2 months ago. She is getting a lump in her left breast, can you please provide a solution on treating this?

MBBS, MS - General Surgery, MRCS (Edinburgh), Fellowship In Breast Surgery, Fellowship In Onco-plastic Breast Surgery
Oncologist, Gurgaon
Sorry to hear about your wife's problem. The commonest cause of a lump and pain during the time he lasy is breastfeeding is a breast abscess or infection. She should get an ultrasound done to rule out any abscess. Ulrasound will also rule out any other cause of a lump like a galactocele (milk collection) or a tumor.
