I was under pcod treatment (cysts in left ovaries) for 1 year (2017) by taking diane-35 and after getting married in 2018- may regestrone, siphene and duphaston tablets were given in alternate month. For pregnancy treatment, in the month of jan 2019 benfomet tablet and ovashield capsules were given by the Dr. On 12th day from period egg release injection was suggested and injected. Due to injection I felt severe headache, blurred vision and diarrhea.in feb 2019 hormone tests and ultrasound scan were taken on 9th day from my periods and the report shows normal hormone levels and mild polycystic in both ovaries (right side is more than left ovary). Today (21.2.2019) Dr. Suggested me to take glycomet sr 500 continuously for 3 months including during period days. Im confused about these medicines. Whether these tablets are helpful in pregnancy or only to cure pcod. Kindly help me out.

Hi, I am 8 weeks 1 day pregnant, my last LMP was on 13th october 2018. I went to my first scan on 23rd november and I could see only a gestational sac and the doc suggest me to come after 10 days. And again I went on 7th december by that time I could see only a yolk sac and gestational sac I was 7 weeks 2 days pregnant by that time. Again doctor has suggested me to come back on 17th, but he has a doubt that I might miscarry. I already have 2 miscarriage history. I still have nausea and mild vomiting and tiredness whole day, please let me know is it normal? Is there is a chance to see fetal activity?

Whenever a normal healthy couple fails to conceive even after repeated trials for a considerable period, then both the partners should consider going through a comprehensive physical and medical assessment. The tests for deciphering female infertility must start without further delay.
How is the investigation carried out?
Since sperm abnormalities, fallopian tube obstruction, and ovulation dysfunction are the most common causes of infertility, the commonly advised investigations for the infertile couple are focused on the analysis of semen. Sometimes, many infertile couples have already undergone their infertility tests, and the gynecologist would cautiously review the data. An experienced doctor would omit out unnecessary tests and investigations in specific couples so that the total cost of infertility investigation is reduced. For instance, a woman who doesn’t have any history of which indicates previous pelvic inflammatory disease would never have to undergo a laparoscopy. On the other hand, there is no requirement for testing tubal patency for people who would require ICSI or IVF process.
Each and every test should be done under proper guidance of a fertility consultant, so that reliability matters.
How to go about it effectively?
Needless to say, the cost of infertility is much higher compared to many other treatments. For this particular reason, a call for low-cost ART protocols has been initiated in many countries to lower the cost of IVF. This is accomplished through limiting the present cost of laboratory tests and use of low-priced machines and instruments.
Thankfully, a wide range of treatment options has been made available due to the availability of reproductive medicines and experiences gained through the management of infertility. There are three main forms of treatment: medical therapy, surgical treatment, and various assisted reproduction techniques.
The choice of infertility treatment is determined on the basis of cost, efficacy, administration, ease of use, and side effects. The cultural, religious and legal inquiries have restricted the choice in certain areas.
The fertility clinics also aim at addressing the emotional and psycho-social needs of the infertile couples along with their medical needs. The content of counseling also alters on the basis of the needs of the suffering couple and the existing treatment options. But unfortunately, there are no reliable means of predicting whether any particular treatment would be successful and after how many attempts. In this case, the experience and knowledge of the expert play a significant role in determining the rate of success.
Though infertility doesn’t have any life-threatening outcome, it leads to enormous psycho-social consequences among infertile people. Thus, numerous protocols have emerged to aid such couples. The only thing they need to do is to seek medical attention that can help them to conceive and nurture the joy they have yearned for.
