How I can save my eyes due to computer work in the office and can I use different types of glasses at the work so I can save my eyes.

Hi. I have a few suggestions for you regarding the usage of computers. Follow the rule of" 20" this means that every 20 minutes, take a gap of 20 seconds, blink your eyes actively 20 times and focus at an object which is minimum 20 feet away. This will help in relieving your eyes from the continuous strain that is caused due to staring. Staring at the computer continuously causes us to subconsciously blink less than normal. This causes the tear film on the surface of the eye to dry up. The result of this is pain, discomfort, etc. Another suggestions regarding the usage of computers is to maintain a proper posture. The computer must be positioned at the same height as your eye level. The neck should not be inadvertently flexed or extended. Roughly, an angle of 90 degrees should be maintained between your upper body and thighs. Likewise, a similar angle (90 degrees) should be maintained between your lower legs and thighs. Also the angle between your hands and arms should be roughly 90 degrees. This is the healthy ergonomic way of sitting while using a computer. Maintenance of proper posture would help in further relieving the symptoms of eye discomfort and pain. All these suggestions may take a while to sink in and imbibe in your routine. Once followed, they are sure to work wonders for you. Hope my suggestions help you. Take care.

There is no known treatment. However, there are special contact lenses and glasses that may help people with color blindness tell the difference between similar colors.---------------------------- color blindness is a lifelong condition. Most people are able to adjust to it without difficulty or disability.----------------- homoeopathic medicine----------------------- santonine 3x (dr reckeweg) chew 2 tab twice daily for 3 months.------------------- if the color blindness is partial ie. If one pigment is missing then the above homoeopathic medicine is very useful in that case as seen in my general practise. I will advise you, that what ever is your condition, you should start taking this medicine. Purely homoeopathic, noside effects.

I am a diabetic patient for the last 18 years. So far no problem. Now eyes have a black dot like during the last 3 months which decreases my sight. No eye glass worn so far. What medicines I have to take for eye problem being affected by diabetes?

Phaco Development Program, Fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology, DNB Ophtalmology, MBBS
Ophthalmologist, Mysore
Medicines only will not cure problems caused due to diabetes. Get your eyes checked by a retina specialist and if you have diabetic retinopathy depending upon stage and area involved you will be advised 1 or more of the following 1. Observation 2. Laser 3. Intraocular injections.

Hello this may be due to dryness you can 1. Blink a lot 2. Wash eyes with fresh water 3. Cold compresses 4. Use lubricating eye drop like flogel regarding flying particles: in eye we have 2 segments: anterior and posterior. In posterior segment we have a gel called vitreous this vitreous is made of collagen fibres. In some people, these collagen fibres gets meshed up and they start floating in vitreous gel when light enters the eye, these meshed collagen fibres cast a shadow on retina which is seen as floaters by patient. There is no treatment for this just avoid seeing them these are entirely normal consult ophthalmologist if these suddenly increase in number This is a provisional diagnosis. Consult your ophthalmologist for detailed examination.
