It seems to be case of dryness which is common these days due to overuse of smartphone, computer & watching TV for long time without break. You can use lubricating eye drops (Refresh liquigel) 4-5 times along with antibiotic eye drops (Tobrex eye drops) 3-4 times for few days, if don't get relief consult ophthmologist for check up & proper medication

When I stand still in one place for more than 25 mins my head starts rotating and blackness gets in front of my eyes. Please guide me what can I do to rectify it?

PGDD, RD, Bachelor of Home Science

When I stand still in one place for more than 25 mins my head starts rotating and blackness gets in front of my eyes....
Hye. Get your ENT check done. Also understand that you are young and your nutritional needs are high for growth and development. It is important to know that just eating two heavy meals a day will not fulfill your nutrient needs. Most often we skip meals especially when at work or in college. We start our day on empty stomach but our work or stress or activity is never reduced. This causes weakness and lack of energy levels. Food is our source of energy and if you don't eat well as per your needs you are going to get deficient in many nutrients. So, start by eating the right foods at the right time. Eat meals at frequent intervals. Eat a mid meal between each main meal. Avoid junk foods. Include dairy, eggs, nuts, fruits in your meals. Avoid alcohol and smoking. Sleep well.    Exercise at least thrice a week.

The bulging you describe can first be checked by your general ophthalmologist to rule out puffiness due to allergy/dryness, etc. If that has been ruled out and it is surely due to thyroid and very significant, then you may visit an oculoplastic surgeon. Any specialty eye hospital will have a department of oculoplasty and the surgeon there can evaluate you best.

Lutein and zeaxanthin are both important nutrients for eye health, 6 as both of them are found in high concentrations in your macula—the small central part of your retina responsible for detailed central vision. More specifically, lutein is also found in your macular pigment – known for helping to protect your central vision and aid in blue light absorption—and zeaxanthin is found in your retina. Estimated daily dose of lutein is 10 mg per day, and at 2 mg/day for zeaxanthin. Both lutein and zeaxanthin are primarily found in green leafy vegetables, although zeaxanthin is far scarcer than lutein. Kale and spinach are two of the most lutein-rich foods, but you'll also find it in carrots, squash, and other orange and yellow fruits and vegetables. Both lutein and zeaxanthin are carotenoids called xanthophylls, which give plants and vegetables their yellow-orange color, and the name" lutein" comes from the Latin word" luteus, which means" yellow. If you remember this, it may help you pick out vegetables that are likely to contain higher amounts of these two nutrients. Egg yolk is another source of both lutein and zeaxanthin that is well absorbed by your body Most of the dark green leafy vegetables, previously recommended for a higher intake of lutein and zeaxanthin, have 15-47 percent of lutein, but a very low content (0-3 percent) of zeaxanthin. Study shows that fruits and vegetables of various colors can be consumed to increase dietary intake of lutein and zeaxanthi It is also important to note that lutein is an oil-soluble nutrient, so if you eat the vegetables without some oil or butter your body can't absorb the lutein. Adding a little bit of healthy fat, such as olive oil, coconut oil, or raw organic butter, will maximize your lutein absorption. Watering of the eyes has multiple causes associated with it. To enumerate a few common causes: (1) allergy of the eye. It is usually caused by improper eye hygiene. There is a tendency to rub the eyes with fingers, handkerchief, cloth, etc. This is not a good habit because it tends to transmit lots of virus, bacteria and dust into the eye. Allergy usually presents with symptoms of watering (clear water), redness and itching of the eye. (2) infectious conjunctivitis: this is usually associated with white-yellowish discharge. If so, it would be a good idea to go and show to an eye specialist in person. (3) foreign body lodged in the eye. This is more commonly associated with people who drive 2 wheeler vehicles without protection. It occurs more commonly in one eye. Foreign bodies that commonly get lodged are eyelashes, insect wings, small insects, dust particles, iron particles (more common with people working in the iron industry) the solution for a foreign body lodged in the eye would be better provided by an eye specialist at the clinic. (4) raised intraocular pressure: this is a condition known as glaucoma. It is not so common as the previous mentioned conditions. There is usually associated pain in the eyes. It is commonly bilateral (occurs in both eyes). There is usually a positive family history of glaucoma associated in a majority of the cases. (5) inflammation of the coats of the eyeball. This is known as" uveitis" it is also a relatively less common condition. There is associated pain. It would require a thorough eye checkup including the retina-thus a good idea would be to visit the eye specialist in person. From the symptoms described by you, it seems more likely to be a case of allergy. Maintaining the precautions and hygiene that I mentioned should probably work well for you. Hope my suggestions helped you. Take care.

Hello lasik is very good option to get rid of glasses Doctor will perform few tests (Schirmer test, Pentacam and Fundus examination) and if all tests are normal then you can go for lasik surgery without fear. Success rate of LASIK is over 96%. Side effects may vary from minimal like mild dryness, DALK, haloes, glare to severe like infection (very rare). As your age is 41 yrs, you will need near vision glasses after lasik.
