. I have sight and its range. I am at the age of 22 can I go for laser treatment.
Lasik is a simple laser procedure which changes the shape of the cornea so that the light rays fall on the retina properly. It is a painless procedure. It is a day care procedure does not require any injections, does not require admission, you can simply resume your duties in 2 days. Cost varies from centre to centre. Side effects are usually limited to dryness of eyes for few months. We can do lasik anytime after age of 18 years. You need to undergo proper prelasik checkup to decide whether lasik is safe for you or not

I have hairs on my cheeks near eyes. Now new hairs are coming on all the face near the face. In recent I used betnovate cream for my face because I have skin problem. I think this hair growth is result of this. So what ate the methods to cure them except laser treatment. Is there any medicine available for this?

The hair growth could definitely be because of chronic use of steroids like betnovate. Some of it will decrease after stopping betnovate but it generally requires lasers and topical medications work best with lasers only.

I have allergies, and my eyes are effected the most they're puffy, red and itchy. What can I do?
Hello. I think you have allergic conjunctivitis. 1. Eye allergies, called allergic conjunctivitis, are a common condition that occurs when the eyes react to something that irritates them (called an allergen). 2. The eyes produce a substance called histamine to fight off the allergen. As a result, the eyelids and conjunctiva (the thin, filmy membrane that covers the inside of your eyelids) become red, swollen and itchy, with tearing and burning. The key to treating eye allergies is a. Avoid or limit contact with the substance causing the problem. B. Avoid rubbing eyes instead do cold compresses. Use antiallergic eyedrop along with lubricating eyedrop. This will help you I am very sorry dear to say that there is no medicine that can cure allergy. Only way is to stay away from all those things that you are allergic to.

I want to know what is the max and min time best for the exposure of eyes to the artificial lights like TV and mobile. Also whether increase in screen brightness of mobile or laptop could strain the eyes of instead they help for the eyes.

I want to know what is the max and min time best for the exposure of eyes to the artificial lights like TV and mobile...
There is no any scale for measurement of max. And minimum time for exposure of eyes to tv/mobile but taking precautions while using them is the best way to avoid and nullify the effects of strong lights. Increase in screen brightness of mobile or laptop could definitely strain the eyes ------------------------------------if you work on a computer, taking eye breaks for five minutes every hour can lessen the strain on your eyes. Simply closing your eyes for a few moments can also do wonders. Try standing up, moving around, or taking a short walk to help regain concentration. Regular eye exercises that involve focusing on different distances can help prevent future straining. Blink often. Blinking refreshes and replenishes your eyes naturally. While watching tv/mobile make sure that the lightening in room is proper and you are at least at a distance of 10 feet from tv to reduce and negate the effects. You can also reduce the intensity of the tv/mobile screen by attaching a filter or by getting an eye-friendly screen. If you are having trouble with blinking due to the dryness of your eyes, try using homoeopathic cinelube eyedrops (hapdco) 3 times daily.

Dont worry. Caract is an old age problem. If it is present n person less dan 50 yrs its termed as presenile. It can b presenile perse or secondry to trauma, ocular infection, etc (complicated cataract) it has surgical cure. But the type of surgery will depend after accesing your lens status. Lens capsule status, state of the pupil and associated conditions. So see an ophthlmologist who would asses all dese and explain you the surgical procedure. Do not panic.

Prolonged near work causes eyestrain. So close your eyes for few minutes to give rest to the eye, every 45 minutes to 1 hour of nearwork. You can put artificial tear drops and take multivitamin tablets.

Hello. Being a retina surgeon, I do understand your problem pretty well. Let me go through your query point wise. First and foremost, traumatic injuries to the eye or the area around the eyes have an increased risk of being complicated along with poor vision recovery. The injury that occurred to your eye must have resulted in a traumatic catarct developing in the eye. For this, you were operated in 2005. Subsequently, the vitrectomy along with injection of sulfur hexafluoride (sf6) gas was done for your retina complication. The reason for incomplete recovery of vision are multiple: (1) the retina may be damaged along with loss of an important layer in it (photoreceptors) (2) the cornea may be damaged (which may resyult in whitening) (3) the optic nerve may have suffered damage which may have caused it to dry up. Thus, to be frank, it would be a good idea to check your eyes and then suggest you any possible treatment alternatives.

Hello lybrate-user protect your sight with these six tips: 1. Eat for good vision 2. Quit smoking 3. Wear sunglasses 4. Wash your eyes 3-4 times a day 5. Look away from the computer screen 6. Avoid rubbing your eyes with fingers/ cloth/ shirt/ dupatta, etc. Let me enumerate the diet necessary for healthy eyes. (1) green leafy vegetables including spinach, sprouts, cabbage, beetroot. (2) fruits-blue-berries, black-berries, strawberries, raspberries, kiwi fruit, grapes, pineapple, pomegranate, grapes, guava. (3) dry-fruits: almonds, walnuts, apricots, dates. (4) cereals: oats, barley, millets. In case you need information regarding elimination of your refractive power, the operations done to remove the refractive error (power) of the eyes are known as refractive surgery. There are certain basic criteria that most patients need to fulfill before they can safely undergo refractive surgery. To enumerate, they are: (1) stability of refraction: the power of the eyes should have become stable for a period of 1.5 years minimum without any change. (2) curvature of the cornea should be tested by a technique which is known as topography. (3) thickness of the cornea should be measured by a test known as pachymetry. The minimum thickness required is 550 microns. (4) dilated retina evaluation: this is one of the most important tests that should be performed by a trained retina specialist. This test helps in detection of any offensive lesion on the central or peripheral retina. In case of any retinal abnormality, these should be treated before undergoing the surgery for number reduction. (5) there should be no pre-existent corneal abnormality. (example: corneal scar, opacity, defect, etc.) another important suggestion is that whenever you go for the assessment (the above mentioned tests), you should discontinue the use of contact lenses at least 4 weeks prior to the assessment. The reason for this being that use of contact lens temporarily alters the contour of the cornea. It takes around 3-4 weeks for the restoration of the original corneal contour after removal of the contact lens. Another important point is that you, as a patient, should be compliant to put post operative medication in your eyes for at least 2 months. There is bound to be some discomfort, watering, foreign body sensation, pain after the surgery in most cases-you should be ready to tolerate that. A leave from work for 7-10 days after the surgery should be generally sufficient. Last but not the least, you should set realistic expectations from this surgery. Though extremely rare, there is a remote possibility that the surgery may need to be repeated. Also, the need for subsequent treatment for the eye may be required. Thus, you should be compliant enough to trust and follow your eye specialist. In case you have any other queries, feel free to contact me. Hope my suggestions help you, take care,

Dear lybrate user, red eyes could be because of many reasons but commonly it is due to allergy or infection. You need to visit eye specialist to differentiate between the two as the treatment is different. Also get your eyes checked for any glass power.

What is the causes of eyesight lose
and what are the exercises to improve eyesight.
There is no medication or food for improving eyesight or to get rid of glasses. If not interested in glasses then you can try a. Contact lens b. Lasik laser as your age is now 24 years so your number will not increase now whether you wear glasses or not as number becomes stable at age of 18-20 yrs. Having said that I advise you to eat balanced diet including green vegetables and seasonal fruits for keeping eyes and body healthy. If you are not comfortable with contact lens then go for lasik. Lasik is a very easy and painless procedure. If you want to get rid of glasses then go for lasik.
