Quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Avoid sitting Cross legged. Avoid Squatting- Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core Strengthening Exercise- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams Stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports Taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area Contrast Fomentation (Hot and Cold).

I'm a 35 year single woman weighing 60 kgs and height 5 feet 4 inches. I've been pretty active, esp last year I trekked for about 10 days to high altitudes, while in the city took power yoga, zumba, and weight lifting classes. Ran twice a week. I've experienced sharp unbearable pain in my ankle. No fractures and sprains. Parents have flat foot, docs have been telling me it could be due to that. Can't stand for more than 2 hours and walk continuously for long. Pain killers have not helped much and I do not want any more pain killers. How to treat the pain and condition of flat foot? please suggest. I'm wearing silicon medial arches now.

Flat foot at times causes pain. But we must rule out other causes as well rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Physiotherapy usually helps any way take caldikind plus (mankind) 1tab odx10days paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days it may have to be further investigated make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. You must have x rays of your feet done.

Hello mam according to your height your wt is more in ration. Second things may you have a bad posture or tight thingh muscle which are not flexible and creating back ache. No a days 80%of back pain and disc buldge coming just bcos posture and tight muscle. So go through nearest physiotherapist centre and physical examination. They will resolve your problme.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. is your uric acid level back to normal. its unlikely to have osteoarthritis at your age. it could be inflammatory arthritis. you can read my health tip on gout regarding dietary restrictions for gout. consult a rheumatologist

As per your complaint. Back pain is due to strain for hours together work or might have lifted heavy load or having poor posture. Please get it assessed by orthopaedician or physiotherapist. Advise: regular exercises for back helps to improve muscle strength. Posture correction if any.

Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 1 wk, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

what is the severity of pain? is the pain continous or intermittent? is it pulsating? since pain is a complex phenomenon, there are many treatment options medications, therapies, and mind-body techniques. Apart from pain killers, there is evidence that certain dietary supplements and vitamins can help with certain types of pain. Fish oil is often used to reduce pain associated with swelling. A therapeutic diet complemented with few medications for pain management can also work wonders. Do reply back for medication prescriptions.
