Hi lybrate-user Pl find enclosed some info for you regarding knee pain. 11 Knee Pain Dos and Don’ts You can do many things to help knee pain, whether it's due to a recent injury or arthritis you've had for years. Follow these 11 dos and don’ts to help your knees feel their best. Don’t rest too much. Too much rest can weaken your muscles, which can worsen joint pain. Find an exercise program that is safe for your knees and stick with it. If you're not sure which motions are safe or how much you can do, talk with your doctor or a physical therapist. Do exercise. Cardio exercises strengthen the muscles that support your knee and increase flexibility. Weight training and stretching do, too. For cardio, some good choices include walking, swimming, water aerobics, stationary cycling, and elliptical machines. Tai chi may also help ease stiffness and improve balance. Don’t risk a fall. A painful or unstable knee can make a fall more likely, which can cause more knee damage. Curb your risk of falling by making sure your home is well lit, using handrails on staircases, and using a sturdy ladder or foot stool if you need to reach something from a high shelf. Do use" RICE. Rest, ice, compression, and elevation (RICE) is good for knee pain caused by a minor injury or an arthritis flare. Give your knee some rest, apply ice to reduce swelling, wear a compressive bandage, and keep your knee elevated. Don't overlook your weight. If you're overweight, losing weight reduces the stress on your knee. You don’t even need to get to your" ideal" weight. Smaller changes still make a difference. Don't be shy about using a walking aid. A crutch or cane can take the stress off of your knee. Knee splints and braces can also help you stay stable. Do consider acupuncture. This form of traditional Chinese medicine, which involves inserting fine needles at certain points on the body, is widely used to relieve many types of pain and may help knee pain. Don't let your shoes make matters worse. Cushioned insoles can reduce stress on your knees. For knee osteoarthritis, doctors often recommend special insoles that you put in your shoe. To find the appropriate insole, speak with your doctor or a physical therapist. Do play with temperature. For the first 48 to 72 hours after a knee injury, use a cold pack to ease swelling and numb the pain. A plastic bag of ice or frozen peas works well. Use it for 15 to 20 minutes three or four times a day. Wrap your ice pack in a towel to be kind to your skin. After that, you can heat things up with a warm bath, heating pad, or warm towel for 15 to 20 minutes, three or four times a day. Don’t jar your joint (s). High-impact exercises can further injure painful knees. Avoid jarring exercises such as running, jumping, and kickboxing. Also avoid Doing exercises such as lunges and deep squats that put a lot of stress on your knees. These can worsen pain and, if not done correctly, cause injury. Easing Stress, Easing Arthritis Symptoms Do get expert advice. If your knee pain is new, get a doctor to check it out. It's best to know what you're dealing with ASAP so you can prevent any more damage.

Hi lybrate-user vegetarian diet tips for muscle gain rotis: rotis are one of the best food's for bodybuilding. Rotis are made from wholegrains that are complex carbohydrates and supply us with energy and fibre. Some households mix different wholegrains to get the benefits of calcium and other minerals. Potatoes: potatoes that are prepared with less oil or baked provide us with carbohydrates without the unnecessary calories. Potatoes also contain potassium, which prevents muscle cramps. Brown rice: it is a rich source of complex carbohydrates that energises us during weight training. Brown rice also contains iron, calcium and fibre that are necessary for building bones and cell growth. Bananas: this fruit is not fattening and the best vegetarian'snack' for building muscles. Bananas are also a rich source of potassium, which is good for sore muscles. Paneer: is a great post workout snack. So consume paneer as this will help in the recovery of muscles and promote muscle growth. Paneer also contains calcium and vitamin a. Calcium also helps to strengthen the bones, which are essential for bodybuilding. Milk: drink a tall glass of milk after your workout. It is a good source of protein, calcium and vitamin d. Tofu: tofu is a by-product of soybean and it has high levels of calcium and iron. But this muscle building ingredient also contains potassium, protein and manganese. Broccoli and spinach: this vegetable is a superfoods with several health benefits. It contains protein, calcium, vitamin c and vitamin b.

Hello, My weight as of now is 50 kg and my height is 154 cms. I want to loose 3 kgs. My calorie intake is very moderate and I walk 30 minutes a day but instead of loosing weight I am gaining weight. I do not have thyroid and my periods are regular. I am on folly hair for my hair that is the only medicine I eat. My age is 28 years. What to do?

Dear lybrate-user ji According to your Age, Weight and Hight your BMI is 21.08 which perfectly normal. Record your weight for few more months and try to maintain it, Only walking is not enough better to go with Brisk Walking and start Pranayam and Yoga on routine basis. Stress is one of the leading cause of hair fall to better to avoid unnecessary stress. Be conscious about about Healthy Diet and Lifestyle. If still you feel something is wrong then consult your physician for the same.

Hi. It's normal to loose up to 100 hair per day, and in most people, those hairs grow back. But many men -- and some women -- lose hair as they grow older. You can also lose your hair if you have certain diseases, such as thyroid problems, diabetes, or lupus. If you take certain medicines or have chemotherapy for cancer, you may also lose your hair. Other causes are stress, a low protein diet, a family history, use of bore water, or nutritional deficiencies. Need to rule out any causative factor or underlying medical condition. Management: Take diet rich in protein like non-veg., eggs (it's loaded with essential nutrients such as proteins, Vitamin B12, iron, zinc and Omega 6 fatty acids in large amounts and biotin) , different pulses & legumes, sprouts, nuts (sp. walnuts and almonds); iron-rich food like green vegetables, dates, carrots, prunes, green peas; also oats, shrimp, take flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, green tea, soyabean, fruits, salads, etc. Take low-fat dairy products (they also contain whey and casein, two high-quality protein sources) Take proper 6-9hrs of sound sleep. Give up the habit of smoking and excessive alcohol intake. Avoid junk food and any kind of beverages (tea, coffee, aerated drinks, cold drinks, etc.) Avoid canned/ tinned food or food that contains preservatives (eat fresh ones). Avoid use of hard water to wash the head rather use boiled water for head wash. Avoid use of harsh hair colour, hair treatment like rebonding, straightening, perming, etc. Avoid vigorous exercises or any supplements provided by the gym! Cover your head with scarf or cap while stepping outside. Use Rose wood/ any wooden hair comb to brush your hair. Regular exercising is also one of the important point, but should be done under some good, qualified yoga teacher or instructor for proper guidance; it also releases the stress/ tension in the mind and the body and keeps you FIT and YOUNG!! Medication: Take homoeopathic Rx - Schwabe's Wiesbaden 200 & Alfalfa Tonic twice a day for 1 month and revert. Also, use Schwabe's Arnica shampoo and Hair Growth oil regularly as per the condition of your scalp (minimum 3 times a week). After shampooing, use Bakson's Arnica Hair conditioner as well after every head wash. Apart from this, take Follihair tablets (multivitamin) - 1 tab. daily once for 1 month.

kidney stone when comes to ureter it causes acute colicky pain.u can try oral antispasmodic drugs after seeing a doctor. if its not subsiding after that ,u should get admitted and take injectable antispasmodics and get the stone operated if u want.

Dear to decrease your weight you have to do work out daily. Try the remedies below they can help u. 1. Mix three teaspoons of lemon juice, one teaspoon of honey, and one-half teaspoon of black pepper powder in one glass of water. 2. Drink it in the morning on an empty stomach. 3. Do this daily for at least three months. 4. Drink mint tea or make a paste of green mint with some simple spices and eat during meals. 5. Eat vegetables such as bitter gourd and drumsticks to control obesity. 6. Do bhujang asana, dhanurasana, naukasana, kumbhakasana, pavanamukthasana daily 10 min per asana. 7. With so many people around suffering from cancer, I often wonder what if I could also have or could have it. Are there are common preventive steps one can take as well as any common symptoms one should be cautious about? Also if somebody can suggest some common cancer screening tests that won't be too heavy on the pocket. A detailed response would be appreciated! Hope this doesn't make me sound crazy!

First of all I think you are too anxious and fear death of fatal disease which is very harmful for you and can lead to severe diseases in future. Please note that only a healthy life style if you maintain then you can life longer - whatever disease it comes. There are no such preventive measures so as to suggest that you will not have any cancer. Even a new born can have cancer. Based on the site of affection tests are performed to know the status of cancer - tumor marker test are done.

I'm a software engineer. So I need to spend more times on my system. By this, I got pain in back bone. I used to do some simple exercise, but that was not helpful.

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.
