Dear lybrate-user. Antibody tests may give false negative (no antibodies are detected despite the presence of HIV) results during the window period, an interval of three weeks to six months between the time of HIV infection and the production of measurable antibodies to HIV sero conversion. In your case, the test is conclusive and you have nothing to worry. Take care.

I have nasal congestion since last 5 months, no sneezing but can not breath through nose. Earlier I have snoring problem also. I have DNS in (right nose) I have to take Nasal Spray (otrivin) twice a day but its so much irritating during taking food. Kindly guide me how to rid off from these allergy each year.

Dear Mr. lybrate-user, you certainly have nasal allergy. Otrivin is not the drug of choice. As a matter of fact it has many short term and long term side effects and now out oif favour drug. You should see an ent or allergy specialist who will prescribe the right drug for you.

Hi, I have been obese since 2001 and have tried all sort of diet, you name it I have done it, but nothing has worked for me! Dear to decrease your weight you have to do work out daily. Try the remedies below they can help u. 1. Mix three teaspoons of lemon juice, one teaspoon of honey, and one-half teaspoon of black pepper powder in one glass of water. 2. Drink it in the morning on an empty stomach. 3. Do this daily for at least three months. 4. Drink mint tea or make a paste of green mint with some simple spices and eat during meals. 5. Eat vegetables such as bitter gourd and drumsticks to control obesity. 6. Do bhujang asana, dhanurasana, naukasana, kumbhakasana, pavanamukthasana daily 10 min per asana. 7. Do running early morning daily and join aerobics in evening. 8. Avoid oily and fried foods, processed foods, fatty foods like butter, purified butter, cheese, whole-milk yogurt, cream, chocolate, etc. 9.Replace refined flour with whole-wheat flour and rice with brown rice or parboiled rice. 10. Take 2 tab medohar vati with luke warm water thrice daily 30 min after meals.

I am 66years female. Suffering from diabetes since last 6-7 years mostly controlled with medicines. In2014 I got injury in my right knee, ligaments. There was heavy swelling and pain. Hi, from last three days while taking breath exactly just before exhaling I am feeling some pain near the naval towards left side. It is very near to the boundary of naval area. The pain is not continuous, only comes while taking breath or bending the abdominal forward. Please suggest. Pain is acute but not much high intensity. I am 28 year old Male.

Dear lybrateuser, - As your pain is there on movement of the abdomen it could be due to soft tissue & muscular problem of the abdominal wall - do not strain, bend or do any abdominal exercise till pain subsides - do hot fomentation of the area 2-3 times a day - apply pain relief gel twice a day, do not rub apply lightly - if pain is more then take a pain relief tablet after meals.

Follow these simple steps to ensure a good sleep every night and stay away from sleep disorders and other health problems associated with unhealthy sleep habits: 1) maintain a regular sleep routine go to bed at the same time. Wake up at the same time. Ideally, your schedule will remain the same (+/- 20 minutes) every night of the week. A good sleep hygiene routine promotes healthy sleep and daytime alertness. 2) avoid sleeping during the daytime. It can disturb the normal pattern. 3) avoid caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol near bedtime. While alcohol may speed the onset of sleep, it creates problems in he second half of sleep. 4) exercise can promote good sleep. Exercise should be taken in the morning or late afternoon. Yoga, can be done before bed to help. 5) have a quiet, comfortable bedroom. Set your bedroom thermostat at a comfortable temperature. Generally, a little cooler is better than a little warmer. Turn off the tv and other extraneous noise that may disrupt sleep. Background'white noise' like a fan is ok. If your pets awaken you, keep them outside the bedroom. Your bedroom should be dark. Turn off bright lights. Have a comfortable mattress. 6) avoid heavy meals close to bedtime. 7) ensure adequate exposure to natural light. 8) avoid emotionally upsetting conversations and activities before trying to go to sleep. Do not think of, or bring your problems to bed. 9) stop using all your digital devices and stop looking at digital screens be it mobile phones or televisions at least 1 hour before the time you plan to sleep. Instead try reading a fiction book near bedtime so it makes you help relaxed and de-stressed. Sleep well live healthy and live longer.
