Sir, take evion 400mg 1 tab at night time for 2 weeks, check your bp. Avoid cold weather, fan ac, deodorant, mosquito repellent, do yoga, meditation, go for regular walks.

Identify the dipping portion on the back of your knee folding. Press this dip with both middle fingers and hold your knee with your thumbs for support. Swing 20 times morning and evenings. Go for a regular walk. Also control your weight properly to bring down the pain.

Apply hot fomentation twice daily. \navoid bending in front. \npostural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang asana? lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a da.

For blood pressure: walk for 45 minutes daily, switch to sendha namak and strictly avoid iodized salt. Iodized salt is banned in 20 countries because it is one of the main reason of impotency and abnormal blood pressure. Iodine is mainly deprived from all pulses and vegetables grown beneath earth like onion, potato, radish, carrot, yams. In low bp drink luke warm water with 1/2 tea spoon sendha namak in morning (1 month. In high bp bath with salt water (sendha namak). Put 25 grams sendha namak in 1 bucket water and bath with it, do not put that water on your head. After the bath do not wipe your body with towel for 15 minutes, within 15-20 days high bp will be ok. For knee pain: take 5 to 7 leaves of parizaad tree (harsinghaar) grind it into a paste, now put that paste to boil in 100ml water and keep boiling until the water comes to half, now drink that like a tea for not more than 15 days. Never consume refined or double refined oil. Mustard, olive or cow ghee only. For swelling please consult with more details.

A broken nose is any crack or fracture in the bony portion of the nose. This is usually a result of external trauma.

Nasal fractures are often cited as the most common type of facial fracture, accounting for approximately half of all facial fractures in several studies.

Broken Nose Causes:

Common sources of trauma include the following:

  1. Sports injuries

  2. Personal fights

  3. Motor vehicle accidents

  4. Falls

  5. In children, nasal fractures are most commonly due to falls.

Broken Nose Symptoms:

  1. Tenderness when touching the nose

  2. Swelling of the nose or face

  3. Bruised nose

  4. Bruising under the eyes (black eye)

  5. Deformity of the nose (crooked nose)

  6. Nosebleed

  7. Pain and difficulty breathing out of the nostrils

Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You have mentioned backache as your problem. If you have only localized backache with no other associated symptoms like radiating leg pain, numbness, paresthesias etc, and no systemic symptoms like fever, loss of appetite, loss of weight etc, my advice to you for initial 2-3 weeks will be: - to maintain proper posture while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or even tab paracetamol which suits you - intensive physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied 3-4 times in a day - analgesic spray for local application like dynapar qps spray can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc backache can be due to multiple reasons like degenerative disc issue, weak back muscles, mechanical back pains, spinal stenosis etc. If you do not improve in 2-3 weeks with this conservative management, we will need to evaluate you further in form of dynamic x rays to look for any instability as a cause for pain and some blood investigations to rule out any deficiencies etc. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Main cuase for the back pain after 50 years of age is due to degenrative changes I the spine treatment:- use hot water bag / heating pad for 20-25 min. After that do some back extension exercises like bhujangasan (half cobra pose) and pelvic bridging exercises 10 sec hold and 3 sets of 10rep. Twice a day, avoid forward bending, sitting position for long time and sitting without back support.

Patient needs to be examined in detail & be investigated. Anyway you may try- sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. For emergency treatment contact your nearest hospital or family doctor. If it does not give relief in 4-5 days then inform me.

Do the isometric exs for your quadriceps, hamstrings and abductors muscles. You need to do the progression with resisted exs but under supervision of any physiotherapist.

Mr. Lybrate-user, it is necessary to do muscle stretching before & after every sport to prevent injuries as well as to avoid delayed onset muscle soreness leading to muscle tightness & pain. If the pain is only from the muscles, then apply moist heat pack for less than five minutes followed by gentle low back & upper back stretches.
