Today is my 12 day of iui I have seen some white discharge on my panty an there is pain on my left abdomen and back pain is there sign of pregnancy? Please advice.

Generally pre menstrual period some aches and pain do occur. These do not mean pregnancy. If you miss your period, do a urine pregnancy test from an early morning sample, in a lab and see the result. If positive you are pregnant. If negative your are not pregnant. Even after iui, one has to wait for the date of missed period to detect pregnancy. The urine pregnancy kits are sensitive to levels which are commonly seen just at missed periods and beyond. Before the period date, there is no simple way to determine pregnancy.

With a 10 month old baby are you feeding the baby? don't do drastic dieting if so. Eat more proteins like toned warm milk and curd with banana for minerals. Eat minimum or no sugar. Reduce grains also. Eat more of seasonal fruits and vegetables and exercise by going for simple walks but baby care if you are on your own is a full time exercise but do go out for walks to exercise and to meditate.

My wife's 37 weeks starting scanned report stated nuchal cord loop seen (once). Admitted and monitored four days then found no improvement. As per our doctor advise operation done and our boy baby 2.959kg born. But his breathing observed fast as well as jandish also found so still he is in hospital under monitoring. Please help me your suggestion as well as our baby future growth. No other observation found and now he is taking mother milk by manual feeding. How long will take to give mother direct milk feeding? please advise me.

Diploma In Endoscopic Surgery, DGO, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Delhi
Dear, fast breathing at birth is mostly transient and subsides of its own. This and jaundice are not due to nuchal cord, which is mostly an incidental finding until your doctor finds a reason for operation. Your child under observation is improving and if doctors allow, which I am sure they will by now then encourage maximum direct latching to mother's breast. Take the help of expert nurses who will teach your wife correct method of breast feeding. Happy parenting and joy to you!

I love to have sex with my gf without using condom but she scared about pregnancy. What should I do.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology

Best contraceptive is oral contraceptive pills like novelon, to be taken for 21 days in a month. If has maximum efficacy. If the sex occurs once in a month then ipill can be taken.

Soy Milk - Is It Really Good For You?

BSc - Dietitics / Nutrition, MSc - Dietitics / Nutrition, Post Graduation Diploma in Dietetics and Public Health Nutrition
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Pune
Soy Milk - Is It Really Good For You?

Do you consume soy milk on a regular basis? Soy milk is full of essential nutrients and is a source of complete protein for vegns and vegetarians. However, some people avoid taking soy milk as several compounds similar to the female hormone estrogen are present in soy milk. In spite of having several cons, the pros of drinking soy milk are significant and essential for maintaining good health.

  1. Nutrients in soy milk: Soy milk contains protein in large amounts and is fortified with micro nutrients such as vitamin D, calcium, phosphorous, vitamin A, vitamin B 12 and Riboflavin. One cup of soy milk contains about 8 grams of protein. Soy milk also contains Alpha Linolenic Acid or ALA, an Omega-3 fatty acid, which the body requires for proper functioning. The micro nutrients contained in soy milk are similar to those present in cow milk.
  2. It is lactose-free: Cow milk contains lactose, which is a natural sugar and many people find it hard to digest it. Soy milk is completely lactose free. Hence, if you have a milk allergy or are lactose intolerant, soy milk serves to be an ideal nutritional replacement without having any negative side effects on your body.

Health benefits
There are several health benefits, which are obtained by drinking soya milk. It is free of dietary cholesterol, trans fat and saturated fat, which indicates that your risk of heart disease is reduced. Drinking 25 grams of soy milk as a part of a healthy diet prevents the occurrence of heart diseases. Soy contains isoflavones which help in the prevention of hormone associated cancers such as breast cancer, prostate cancer and endometrial cancer.

Concerns
In spite of having several health benefits, there are some potential concerns associated with soy milk and its consumption. According to some studies, soy can affect or impact fertility in men. Soy may also increase the activity of thyroid hormone and reduce thyroid function. Moreover, milk is considered to be more effective than soy protein in boosting lean muscle mass.

Soy milk accounts for being one of the most ideal non dairy milk varieties, if you are concerned about matching its nutrient content with cow’s milk. Recently, there have been some controversies regarding the benefits of soy milk as GMOs or genetically modified organisms are used in it. However, there are many soy milk manufacturing brands which do not use GMOs. Moreover, there is no evidence about GMOs being harmful to the body. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Dietitian/Nutritionist.
