Dear doctor: My wife was pregnant with EDD 09/07/17. On the 5th month anomaly scan, we were told that the baby had a heart defect called Left Heart Hypoplastic Syndrome and the aorta was poorly developed. We were told to terminate the pregnancy and pregnancy was terminated in the 6th month by vaginal delivery, a boy baby. What is the cause for HLHS? Can it be found earlier? HOW TO PREVENT IT WITH NEXT PREGNANCY? When it is better to conceive again?

Very sad to hear about your child. Diabetes, TORCH infection and chromosomal abnormalities are few conditions which can cause such anomalies. You can go for pregnancy again after 6 months and will be screened for these conditions. Meanwhile start with tablet folic acid 5 mg daily.

My wife aged 62 yrs, always avoids sex, on the pretext of her age, as she believes that after 60 sex should not be done. She is otherwise well, her vaginal lubrication is excellent, rarely when interested, her arousal is great. Almost all the time I have to use compulsive technique for her forced agreeing. Her statement is, "Karna hai jo karo jaldi se aur mujhe sone do" Touching her vaginal area & breast annoy her & she says "iske alawa bhi kuch socho, hamesha sex. I am very fond of sex, I need sex at least weekly. Masturbation is the only remedy available with me, for which I feel guilty.

Hello- Both estrogen and progesterone levels drop significantly at the onset of menopause. Estrogen is the key female sex hormone that increases the sensation, vaginal lubrication, and maintains many female sexual characteristics. When estrogen level drops, most women would start experiencing hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, loss of libido, and irregular periods. When both progesterone and testosterone drop, symptoms of irregular periods, loss of sex drive, and fatigue will start. It takes time for body to adjust to the new low level of sex hormones. But for some, the symptoms are too bothersome and intolerable. Natural Solutions Many foods can help women reduce the symptoms of menopause and help increase sex drive. Here are some recommended foods: Tofu Miso Soup Soy Milk Almonds Oysters Kidney Beans Buckwheat Lean Meats and Fish These foods contained a higher level of zinc, magnesium, soy proteins, and natural sex hormone booster. Herbs from Revive Passion For Menopausal Women remedy are known to replenish the essential hormones naturally and restore the peace of mind to the way like before.

If mammogram isn't possible, it the Prolactin Serum body test good enough to detect any breast cancer? Also, pls tell me that if someone is having only milkish-waterish nipple stimulation, how much chances are of it being a breast cancer. N what stage it can be?

Oncologist, Pune
Milky discharge is not related to cancer. All pathologies in breast are not cancerous. Milky discharge can be related to high prolactin level in the body. That's why doctors will check it. It can be reverted with medicine s. But better to get checked by Breast Surgeon once.

Dear Doctor, I had a miscarriage 20 days before I was 6 week pregnant. And from last 6 days there is a brown discharge. I had unprotected sex a week ago. Brown discharge started after having sex. I want to ask will there b any chance of pregnancy.

Brown discharge indicate old bleeding more than 3 days ago which is so less that it could not flow out as blood. If there is no pain or fever or backache, then it may clear up in 3-4 days. If not, or if it develops into fresh bleeding then you have to visit the doctor and an ultrasound may be required. Intercourse may not be the direct cause. Some bleeding is expected after miscarriage but fresh bleeding after 20 days needs to be investigated.

Dear user. ABORTIONS can be performed as early as an intra-uterine pregnancy can be identified by ultrasound, which is usually about 3-4 weeks after your Last Menstrual Period (LMP). In the first trimester, two options are available: Aspiration is done by a physician in the clinic or the Abortion Pill which you take at home. Do not take any decisions before consulting your gynecologist. Take care.

It would be better if you do, though circlage is not a 100 per cent guarantee, although it increases the chances of preventing pre term labour. But make sure you follow complete bed rest even after circlage. Good luck.
