Dear Lybrateuser, - You can control your blood sugar by diet & exercise - avoid fried, processed & junk foods, also sweets, pastries & bakery items - have more of fruits & vegetables including green & seasonal ones, whole grains, low fat dairy, lean meats including fish & skinless chicken, nuts, beans, lentils, pulses, sprouts - do regular exercise including brisk walking, jogging, swimming, also do moderate weight lifting at least twice a week, include yoga & deep breathing in your schedule, do for at least 10-15 min daily in the morning - your medication requirement or not will depend on your blood sugar control, if your sugar remains under control then you may not require medication - also reduce your weight to maintain a normal blood sugar level - monitor your sugar levels as per your doctors advise.

Hello. The following exercises will help you in reducing the fat and toning up muscles of hips: -Put squats into your routine. Just by taking warm water and honey, it will not help you to lose body fat. You have to eat clean and do some intense exercise. To maintain a low body fat and/or lower body fat: 1. Exercise at least 5 times per week 2. Eat whole/unprocessed foods at regular intervals, while being aware of physical hunger/fullness cues 3. Sleep 7-9 hours per night 4. Don’t engage in extreme diets 5. Stay consistent with your habits 6. Incorporate non-exercise physical activity 7. Ignore food advertising You need a fat loss diet which comprises of whole grains like jowar, bajra, wheat, brown rice, pulses like moong, musoor, bengal gram, lots of vegetables, fruits, eggs, fish, chicken, paneer, healthy oil, nuts and seeds. You need to eat them in right proportion. Avoid eating sugar and sweets, refined foods like maida, noodles pasta, White rice and products, bread. Drink a lot of water.

Try kegel exercises this is a great way of strengthening your pelvic muscles and gain strength for sex. It is like going to the gym, but for sex. Let me tell you how to do kegel exercises. You have to practice it first. When you urinate, try to stop the flow of urine without your hands, just by contracting your muscles. The muscles you contract then are the pelvic muscles that are used during sex. Do not do this while urinating again, you can do this while you are sitting or standing, while working or doing other things. Once you know how to contract them try doing this a few times every day and this will strengthen them. Aim for at least three sets of 10 repetitions a day. You should see results in a few week.

If bending down is painful try to squat down and pick up any object as that is the correct way to avoid straining your back. You can start with simple exercises like bending backwards from waist, knee to chest exercise. Make changes in your lifestyle and avoid sitting on low chairs and floor during the pain.

How to reduce sodium consumption through diet

Minerals and salts are important parts of our daily diets. These minerals play significant roles in the functioning of the human body but, if found in excess, they might adversely impact your health. One such mineral is sodium, which is abundant in most food sources.

Sodium is present in every food in the form of salt. Most forms of meat, canned vegetables and soup, junk food and pickles are some examples of food which are naturally high in sodium. Apart from this, any cooked food will have salt crystals within it. Medical research has shown that most people consume more sodium than what is recommended.

Ill Effects of Sodium Intake in Excess

- The most common problem caused by the excessive consumption of sodium is high blood pressure.
- High blood pressure, apart from being the cause of strokes can also affect internal organs like kidneys and cause renal failure over time.
- It can also be detrimental to the heart and be a contributing factor to heart conditions as well.

Here are some of the ways through which you can reduce sodium intake through changes in diet.

  • Increasing the intake of fruits within the diet - Inclusion of more fresh fruits in your diet will reduce the amount of sodium consumption. Canned and processed fruits may increase sodium consumption and hence should be reduced.
  • Changing to fresh unprocessed meats - Certain processed and packaged meats such as in snacks and fast foods should be avoided as they have high sodium content. Hence, consumption of fresh meat instead of processed meat is an effective way to reduce your daily sodium intake.
  • Including more leafy vegetables in your diet - Leafy green vegetables such as kale, spinach, and celery have a lot of water and also help reduce the sodium intake in your body.
  • Drinking plenty of water - Sodium levels can rise within the body when it is dehydrated. Thus, it is prudent to always keep your body hydrated by drinking plenty of water.

Generally prostate related problems causing urinary dysfunction are diseases of elderly. You can get your ultrasound kub and urine analysis done to rule out cause of outlet obstruction it may be a stone or some kind of inflammation. If above are normal you can get psa checked. If it is prostatitis it can be treated by antibiotics under supervision of nephrologist, don't worry.

My dad creatinine level has increased to 4.57 from 3.1 in a month and hemoglobin is 8.1 and urea is 101. Bp is 130/80 and blood group o positive .Sugar is fasting 88 .Doctor has suggested Anfoe injection and we are giving him. How can we make sure to reduce the creatinine. Hello, Thanks for he query. To reduce high creatinine it is essential to achieve a strict blood pressure control and if diabetes is present then blood glucose should also be controlled effectively. Protein intake should be reduced to 0.6 g/kg per day. No non vegetarian food should be given. Excess physical activity should not be carried out. Drinking plenty of water does help. But care should be taken that patient should not be having body swelling or high BP. Thanks.
