Hello sir, I am suffering from short sightedness. What should I do to avoid increasing my specs number! Please tell me.

Hello sir, I am suffering from short sightedness. What should I do to avoid increasing my specs number! Please tell me.
Get your refraction done and wear spectacles. Eat green veggies. Carrots. Strain less your eyes. Relax your eyes in between work. Blink regularly if working for long time on computer. Lower the brightness of your screen. Work under adequately illuminated conditions. If needed wear corrective spectacles. These are few things you can take care of. Otherwise as such no options available which with increases your eyesight. You cant do anything to prevent your refractory error. Looking at your age I think it will stabilize in an year or two.

The solution for this problem is its reduced usage and while using computor use in proper light. There is nothing more effective than controlling usage to reduce and negate the effects. You can also reduce the intensity of the computor screen by attaching a filter or by getting an eye-friendly screen. Above all, one must try to reduce the amount of computor usage or take frequent breaks. Homoeopathic medicine CINELUBE EYE DROPS ( HAPDCO) Pour 2 drops 3 times daily.

I have specs on my eyes and I don't want it for long time what I have to do to get rid of it as soon as possible.
There is no medication or food for improving eyesight or to get rid of glasses. If not interested in glasses then you can try a. Contact lens b. Lasik laser as your age is now 19 years so your number will not increase now whether you wear glasses or not as number becomes stable at age of 18-20 yrs. Having said that I advise you to eat balanced diet including green vegetables and seasonal fruits for keeping eyes and body healthy. As you are not comfortable with contact lens then go for lasik. Lasik is a very easy and painless procedure. If you want to get rid of glasses then go for lasik.

EXTENDED WEAR OXYGEN PERMEABLE CONTACT LENSES

MS - Ophthalmology, MBBS
Ophthalmologist, Jaipur
EXTENDED WEAR OXYGEN PERMEABLE CONTACT LENSES
In high degree of refractive error, may it be myopia or hypermetropia, extended wear contact lenses are great boon. In young age high power of glasses pose great problem. Some cases are suitable for lasik surgery but all are not. Soft contact lenses do not permit oxygen to permeate and hence they can be worn only for short period. Never when you go to sleep. If not cared properly, there can be severe corneal infection and due to protein deposits, these lenses have to be changed after 9-12 months. Moreover, these lenses do not correct astigmatism.
Extended wear rgp lenses can be worn continuously for 2-3 days, can correct any type of refractive error including astigmatism. In keratoconus also soft lenses are not acceptable but rgp lenses can give rewarding results. If cared for, these lenses can last for 6-7 years and there are no chances of infection. These lenses may cost rs 4000 to rs 8000/. Special lenses for keratoconus may cost more. They can be fitted only by expert ophthalmologist. Visit: web: mrj-jainerye. Com.

I have fever from some time & have pain in whole body or headache. And also pain in eyes.

FICO, DNB Ophtalmology
Ophthalmologist, Gandhinagar
I have fever from some time & have pain in whole body or headache.
And also pain in eyes.
Pain in the eyes and headache may have multiple causes associated with it. There are a few points you need to look at before jumping to any conclusions. Have you undergone an eye check up previously? Is there any history of raised pressure in your eyes? Do you have anybody in your family having raised eye pressure? Do you suffer from recurrent cold, fever, cough, etc? Do you have a lot of work/ study related stress? Do you use glasses? The reason for asking all these questions is that headache and eye pain may occur due to various reasons ranging from change in glasses, sinusitis, migraine, glaucoma, tension, blood pressure and so on. The list is long. it would be a good idea to have a look at your eyes. This would help in coming to a decision whether your eye pain and headache is due to an eye problem. If you could use the video facility provided by lybrate and get in touch, I could probably guide you more accurately as to provide relief to your symptoms. Hope my suggestions help you. Take care. regards. Dr. Chaitanya.

Tips to Get Well From Cataract Operation

Cornea Cataract & Lasik
Ophthalmologist, Delhi
Tips to Get Well From Cataract Operation

A simple, uncomplicated cataract surgery should not take more than 10 minutes to perform. The best part about a cataract surgery is that most people see almost immediate results and improved vision. However, full recovery can take awhile. Each person heals at a different speed but ideally, your eyes should heal completely in a month.

Here are a few tips to help speed up this process and avoid infections and eye injuries:

  • Take it easy: Just because the surgery takes a short time is no reason to underestimate its importance. Do not drive on the first day and as far as possible avoid driving for the next few days as well. Do not put any extra pressure on your eyes by bending, lifting weights etc. This will ensure that your stitches do not tear open. Try to avoid excessive sneezing and coughing as this can jerk the lens out of place.
  • Protect your eyes: Wearing sunglasses is a good idea after a cataract surgery. This will protect your delicate eyes against dust, wind etc. Avoid using community swimming pools and hot tubs immediately after such a surgery to lower the risk of infections. Avoid rubbing your eyes aggressively. For the first week, keep your face out of the shower so as to avoid feeling the need to press or rub your eyes as well as to protect them from bacteria in the water.
  • Lubricate: Your eyes may feel dry and scratchy after a cataract surgery. This is normal and not something to worry about. Your doctor will prescribe eye drops to be taken after the surgery. Use these regularly. Once this is over you may need additional artificial tears or lubricating eye drops. However, do not take these drops without first consulting your doctor. If your eyes are sensitive to the preservatives in bottled eye drops, look for single use ampoules. Ensure that you always wash your hands well before administering the eye drops.
  • Keep the eye clean: Though washing your face is avoidable, you must still keep the eye clean. Use cotton and a sterile saline wash for the first few days. You can later replace the saline with cool boiled water.

If you feel any deterioration in your vision, pain or excessive discharge in the operated eye, you must immediately consult your doctor. Seeing sudden flashes of light or floaters in your vision should also not be ignored.

Hello dear there are many causes for redness of eyes mainly allergy, infection, inflammation and dry eyes etc. 1. Redness + itching: allergy 2. Redness + pain+ watering + decreased vision: infection 3. Redness + pain: inflammation 4. Redness+ foreign body sensation: dryness if there is only redness then it is normal as slight exposure to dust, temperature or air or eyes may be red in morning. Stress may also cause redness. I usually do not treat when there is only redness, you can 1. Blink a lot 2. Wash eyes with fresh water 3. Cold compresses 4. Use lubricating eyedrop like flogel these measures will help to keep your eyes healthy but it will not have any effect on redness (treating generalredness alone is not necessary also) having said that you should consult local ophthalmologist for proper examination and treatment.
