DNB (Obstetrics and Gynecology), MBBS
IVF Specialist, Delhi

Egg Freezing

Egg freezing allows a woman to preserve her fertility until she is ready to start her family. During an egg-freezing cycle, a patient will go through many of the same steps that are involved in a typical IVF cycle: ovulation stimulation, ultrasound monitoring, and egg retrieval. After egg retrieval, the eggs will be cultured for a few hours and then frozen the same day for future use.

I am 18yo girl weighing 61kgs and I have recently recovered from mdr t. B. (which reoccured within a span of 3 months due to incomplete medicine) should I take extra precautions on my diet & health? and also I am suffering from pcos and my doctor says that I should lose weight. Is there any way to lose weight and still not get prone to further t. B. Attacks?

MD - Maternity & Child Health
Gynaecologist, Bangalore
First get rid of tuberculosis by appropriate treatment. You need to b healthy if you r suffering from tb. So do not diet. Once you r cured of tb you can think of dieting and other things.

Treatment of irregular periods depends on the cause and your desire to have children in the future. Irregular periods can be caused by many different things. Changes in your body's level of the hormones estrogen and progesterone can disrupt the normal pattern of your period. That's why young girls going through puberty and women approaching menopause commonly have irregular periods. Other common causes of irregular periods include having an intrauterine device (iud) changing birth control pills or using certain medications excessive exercise polycystic ovary disease (pcos) pregnancy or breastfeeding severe scarring (adhesions) of the lining of the uterus, a condition known as asherman syndrome stress overactive thyroid or hyperthyroidism thickening of or polyps on the uterine lining uterine fibroids turmeric being a warming herb, turmeric is also considered helpful in regulating menstruation and balancing hormones. Its emmenagogue properties help stimulate menstrual flow. Moreover, its antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory properties relieve menstrual pain consume one-quarter teaspoon of turmeric with milk, honey or jaggery. Take it daily for several weeks or until you see improvement you can also take turmeric in supplement form; consult your doctor for proper dosage.

Yesterday was my last day of my periods ie 12th of march. Nxt day 13th of March. I had sex with my bf and intercourse without protection. And after 12 hours of intercourse. I want to take unwanted 72 tablet. I want to know that there is any chances of pregnancy. After taking that tablet.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, FCPS, DGO, Diploma of the Faculty of Family Planning (DFFP)
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
As such chance by period date is extremly low and addition of tablet makes it still low practically nil. Still one must observe withdrawal bleeding 7-10 days later as tablets taken.

Night Urination 3 X 1/2 Minute Necessary.

MD - Homeopathy, Masters Degree of Homoeopathy
Homeopath, Mumbai
Night Urination 3 X 1/2 Minute Necessary.

For those who get up at night from sleep to urinate or early morning: each individual must take note of the 3 x 1/2 minutes. Why is it important? 3 x 1/2 minutes will greatly reduce the number of sudden deaths. Often this occurs, a person who still look healthy, has died in the night. Often we hear stories of people, yesterday I was chatting with him, why did he suddenly die? the reason is that when you wake up at night to go to the bathroom is often done in a rush. Immediately we stand, the brain lacks blood flow. Why '3 x 1/2 minute' very important? in the middle of the night when you are awakened by the urge to urinate, for example, an ecg pattern can change. Because getting up suddenly, the brain will be anaemic and causes heart failure due to lack of blood. Advised to practice '3 1/2 minutes' which are:
1. When waking from sleep, lie in bed for the 1st 1/2 minute;
 2. Sit in bed for the next 1/2 minute;
3. Lower your legs, sitting on the edge of the bed for the last half-minute. After 3 x 1/2 minutes, you will not have anaemic brain and heart will not fail, reducing the possibility of a fall and sudden death.
 Share with family, friends and loved ones. It can occur regardless of age; young or old.
 Sharing is caring. If you already know, regard this as refresher.
