Hi. I am suffering from back pain induces at night time. It becomes too tough for me to sleep whole night undisturbly. Back pain is too intense thai I can not even lay down. My back never exists in day time or until I will be active. But after sleeping it starts hurting so much that I can not lay down for hours. I just keep walking or sit with support then it got relax. Whole night I just walk and can not sleep properly.
A backache is one of the most common conditions affecting 8 out of 10 people at some point during their lives due to a sedentary lifestyle, not maintaining proper posture, etc. The lower back is the area most often affected.
Chiropractic treatment usually involves treatment of common lower back pain conditions as well as treatment of lumbar herniated disc, radiculopathy and neck pain, and other conditions, manually. It is used for the non-surgical treatment of disorders of the nervous system and/or musculoskeletal system. Chiropractic treatment plan is driven by the patient's pain, disability issues, and activity intolerance.
What Is Chiropractic therapy?
Chiropractors use hands-on spinal manipulation and other alternative treatments, for proper alignment of the body's musculoskeletal structure, especially the spine. This enables the body to heal itself without surgery or medication.
Manipulation is used to restore mobility to joints restricted by tissue injury caused by a traumatic event, such as falling, or repetitive stress, such as sitting without proper back support.
Chiropractic therapy is primarily used as a pain relief alternative for muscles, joints, bones, and connective tissue, such as cartilage, ligaments, and tendons. It is sometimes used in conjunction with conventional medical treatment.
Chiropractic Therapy consists of the following:
Spinal manipulation and manual manipulation: It is also commonly known as "Chiropractic adjustment". This is a technique where a high-velocity, short lever arm thrust is applied to an abnormal vertebra. This helps in improving function, reducing nerve irritability and restoring range of motion in the back. It also includes exercise, massage, and physical therapy that can provide mild-to-moderate relief from low-back pain. It is a safe treatment for low-back pain when performed by a trained and licensed practitioner.
Mobilization: It is also known as "Chiropractic mobilization". It refers to low-velocity manipulation, movement and stretching of the muscles and joints, with the goal of increasing the range of motion within those areas.
Manual adjustments: Here the doctor manipulates the joints, using a controlled, sudden force to improve the range and quality of motion.
Nutritional counseling and exercise /rehabilitation: Most often, it is also included in the treatment plan.
Steps of the treatment include:
Taking a detailed medical history including ongoing medical conditions:
- Traumatic/surgical history
- Lifestyle factors
- Current medications
- Physical examination
- Laboratory investigations or diagnostic imaging to determine if treatment is appropriate for your back pain
Benefits and Risks of Chiropractic Care:
It is a safe and effective treatment for acute low back pain or sudden injury that results from moving furniture or getting tackled.
Limitations of Chiropractic treatment:
People suffering from the following conditions should not undergo spinal manipulation:
- Spinal cord compression
- Inflammatory arthritis
- People taking blood-thinning medications

Knee pain is characterized by a feeling of pain in the knee joint caused by injury or overuse. The knee joint consists of small bone structures, the kneecap, supporting ligaments and cartilage of the knee. This joint bears the full weight of the body, which makes it very vulnerable to injury.
Causes of knee pain
Knee pain is usually caused by injuries to the knee such as exposure to a direct force on the knee, abnormal twisting of the knee or falling on your knees. Some causes of knee pain are -
- Knee strains and sprains - Overworking the knee joints can damage the tissues of the knee joint resulting in knee sprains and strains
- Osteoarthritis - it is condition where the protective cartilage around the kneecap is damaged, resulting in knee pain
- Bursitis - Excessive movement of the knee or kneeling down for extended periods can irritate the bursa (a fluid sac below the skin above the knee joint) that causes swelling and pain, thereby giving rise to this condition
- Gout - This condition is characterized by the accumulation of uric acid in crystal form around the knee joint, causing inflammation and pain
- Tendon disorders - Tendons connect the muscles to the bones, and overworking the knee can cause the tendons around the knee to become sore and painful
- Kneecap dislocation - Injuries may cause the kneecap to shift out of its position, this causes swelling and pain in the knee joint
Symptoms of knee pain
Severe knee pain can restrict movements such as walking or standing. The symptoms vary according to the extent of the damage suffered by the knee. Most common symptoms of knee pain are problems in climbing stairs, inability to extend the knees, limping and swelling of the knee joint. In some cases, knee pain may also cause fever. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor.
