Do u have gap between teeth?
Reasons for gap between teeth are: hereditary, chipped tooth, broken filling, habit- thumb sucking, incorrect swallowing reflex, using of a toothpick, improper technique of using a floss, if the jaw size is larger than the tooth size, abnormal frenum attachment, missing tooth, extra tooth, tumor growth.

Never neglect a gap between teeth as it can cause food lodgment, tooth decay, bad breath, drifting of teeth and finally loss of tooth if not treated in time. Gaps either small or large can be treated, for further assistance you can call us or visit us at the clinic.

Sir, I have a bad teeth. It hurts me a lot I feel to remove it. Wt should I do now?

BDS
Dentist, Bangalore
Bad breath can be reduced or prevented if you: practice good oral hygiene. Brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste to remove food debris and plaque. Don't forget to brush the tongue, too. Replace your toothbrush every 2 to 3 months or after an illness. Use floss or an interdental cleaner to remove food particles and plaque between teeth once a day. See your dentist regularly -- at least twice a year. He or she will conduct an oral exam and professional teeth cleaning and will be able to detect and treat periodontal disease, dry mouth, or other problems that may be the cause of bad mouth odor. Drink lots of water. This will keep your mouth moist. Chewing gum (preferably sugarless) stimulates the production of saliva, which helps wash away food particles and bacteria.

Hello, I am suffering from the wisdom tooth pain issue. I am having wisdom tooth which has not grown fully. Only some portion of wisdom teeth is visible from outside and some part of skin is trying to come on the top of half grown wisdom teeth. I am very nervous and little tense regarding this issue. I have also taken xray for the same. Wisdom teeth is preety straight so this is good for me but There is one black line in xray in the root of the wisdom teeth. Doctor told me this is an infection. Do I need to use any antibiotic to relive from pain? In future, Do I need to remove this wisdom tooth? Please suggest me the right direction to solve this issue as I am very much tensed. Thanks a lot in advance.

Dear lybrate user, the problem you're facing is fairly common and is not a huge issue so please drop your stress. The condition is called pericoronitis i. E. The inflammation of tissues surrounding an erupting tooth. The ultimate solution for the problem is removal of this wisdom tooth because the ideal age for eruption of this tooth is 18-25 years. If it hasn't erupted till now, there are chances that it'll never erupt fully and will keep causing the symptoms in future also. You could wait for another 6 months-1 year at the max. In addition, sometimes a partially erupted tooth becomes the hub of food accumulation leading to caries in nearby teeth, infection and bad odor. Consult your dentist soon, rinse your mouth with warm salt water 3-4 times daily to relieve the swelling and keep the area clean.

Kindly apply orahelp gum paint twice daily for 15 days. Take multivitamins for a month. Also notice that you are not constipated, stressed or having lack of sleep, having acidity problem as these are few of the reasons for ulcers. Avoid hot and spicy food as this may irritate the ulcers. Brush your teeth twice daily using correct brushing technique to maintain your oral hygiene.

My age is 20 years and now one teeth is growing and its getting pain since last 15 days. What should I have to do?

BDS

The tooth that is erupting now is your wisdom tooth. Kindly get an x-ray done of that tooth and if required get it removed. Till then do warm saline rinses and brush your teeth twice daily using correct brushing technique to maintain your oral hygiene.

Sometimes my brother gets blood from his teeth and this happens daily what is the reason for this and how can this be reduced?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with surgical, gum strengthening procedure. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash after every meals. Use pepsodent tooth paste & gum paint for 2 to 3 weeks. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

Hi, swollen lymph nodes usually occur as a result of exposure to bacteria or viruses. The problem can be because of some dental problem or throat infection or else can be due to some other reason. Please specify more symptoms to reach the cause. Need to rule out the cause, take him to the nearby doctor for physical examination and diagnosis, share the reports with me. Medication: for the time give him homoeopathic medicine - belladonna 30/ 3 times a day for 3 days. Revert.

My name is sudhir kumar. I am 22 years old I have a problem of sensitivity in my teeth. Which is the best medicine & toothpaste for that to cure them.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hello. Tooth sensitivity — also known as dentin hypersensitivity — affects the tooth or exposed root surfaces. This occurs when the enamel that protects our teeth gets thinner, or when gum recession occurs, exposing the underlying surface, the dentin, thus, reducing the protection the enamel and gums provide to the tooth and root. If hot, cold, sweet or very acidic foods and drinks, or breathing in cold air, makes your teeth or a tooth sensitive or painful then you may have sensitive teeth. Tooth sensitivity can come and go over time. Causes: There are many causes of tooth sensitivity, including: Worn tooth enamel from using a hard toothbrush or brushing too aggressively Tooth erosion due to highly acidic foods and beverages Tooth erosion due to bulimia or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) Gum recession that leaves your root surface exposed There are several conditions which can cause pain, but which are not tooth sensitivity: Dental caries A cracked or chipped tooth Grinding or clenching the teeth Leakage around restorations External tooth bleaching Management: Proper oral hygiene is the key to preventing gums from receding and causing sensitive-tooth pain. If you brush your teeth incorrectly, or over-brush, your gums may become sensitive. Brushing properly twice daily for 2 minutes with toothpaste that does not have high levels of abrasives, and flossing once a day, can help reduce the chance of tooth sensitivity. A diet low in acidic foods (tomatoes, pickles, tea, citrus fruits) and drinks also helps prevent tooth sensitivity. Treatment: Apply Plantago Q/ few drops on cotton swab, place it on the affected teeth and press it tightly, do it thrice a day. Orally, take Mag. Phos. 6x/ after every 2 hours. Do visit a dentist for proper diagnosis, share the reports with me. In case possible, will help you in treating your problem.

"For How long a patient has to wear plates to keep the changes in teeth remains , if his/her teeths gets proper in shape and the spaces are disappeared after wearing plates for 2 years " and yet the patient sees a very little spaces to appear when he stop using plates. ???

PG Fellowship In Microdentistry, BDS
Dentist, Thane
It depends on the reason for which you are wearing the plates(reason for which the orthodontic treatment is done). It has to be worn for a period of 1 year but it varies on case to case. if u see the spaces appearing again you can go for a permanent lingual retainers to stablize the teeth which will be of a great help. There are many causes for ulcers, it might be due to trauma while removing teeth, or may be due to allergy of some medications, or due to hypochlorite which is used in rct etc etc. Consult oral medicine doctor or take second opinion from other dentist (mds)

Gum diseases can be treated and reversed in their initial stages very easily. By getting the accumulated tartar and plaque removed by a dentist, there is a chance that they can get better without much ado.
