Doctor I done scaling my teeth, cavity, one teeth remove upper side then also I am suffering from bad breath. What to do tell me.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

Hi, Eat a healthy, balanced diet and avoid eating strongly flavoured or spicy food. Cut down on coffee. Drink plenty of water to help prevent your mouth becoming dry. Chew sugar-free gum after eating, to stimulate the flow of saliva. This will help clean away any remaining food particles. Gastritis, lung & sinus infection may also be the cause of bad smell in the mouth. 90% of bad breath is due to a dirty tongue. So use rtongue scraper regularly, If your bad breath is caused by a gastrointestinal problem, such as an H. Pylori infection or gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD) you may be referred to a gastroenterologist.

Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may consult me in person. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.

If doctor has advised rct, you should go for it to save the tooth, otherwise you will loose the tooth. And if you don't want to save the tooth (which is not preferable) you can get it extracted.

I have broken molar tooth and there is too much pain and it is inflamed. So my question is which drug can be used to relieve pain and inflammation? Does Droxyl 500 and Dicllogesic are appropriate or some other drug is required?

MDS
Dentist, Kolkata
See you can take any painkiller, but it won't totally reduce pain, you need to visit a dentist, get an xray done of the tooth involved and it may have to be removed.

What is Root Canal Treatment?

BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
What is Root Canal Treatment?

What is a root canal?

Root canal is a layman's term to describe a dental procedure that is performed to preserve a tooth that is at risk of being lost due to deep decay, infection, or other forms of trauma. Endodontic therapy or root canal treatment are the dental terms to describe this procedure. Root canal treatment is the removal of the infection-prone contents within the tooth and its roots. Subsequently, the resulting space is filled with an inert material to prevent infection. This treatment thoroughly disinfects the tooth's inner space. Root canal treatment enables a tooth to remain intact to function and serve its purpose in the mouth despite losing its vitality. Vitality is the tooth's ability to sense pain, pressure, or temperature. Prior to the implementation of root canal treatment, if a tooth had a large cavity or was abscessed, the only option was extraction of the bad tooth. All in all with Root Canal Treatment, we get to preserve a natural tooth and restore good dental health.
