Start your Day with Five Positive Affirmations

Mornings are the most important part of your day. Usually many people feel depressed or sad in the mornings offcourse based on certain conditions which may have occurred the previous day. The objective of reciting five positive affirmations sets your mind on positivity which helps you to release positive chemicals in the brain. Your five positive affirmations can be recited in a meditative state where you are focusing or repeatedly saying these affirmations in your mind before starting your day. Let these five positive affirmations be your positive exercise for the mind.

What are the checkups to be done for a woman aged around 47. To prevent these types of diseases.
She has had menopause or is heading towards it, her cycle might be low or heavy due to hormonal changes. Do write details-low and delayed or heavy and erratic. Continue treatment for bp. Get ultrasound of abdomen done on empty stomach. Get basic tests for heart like- ecg, echo, stress test (if she can tolerate) blood for sugar and total lipids. Reduce weight the healthy way by giving up sugar and sweets, fats and oils. Do not reduce good fats like spoon of pure ghee/ butter and a katori of assorted nuts to get proteins and good fats ,every day her demand for calcium is more, she needs to take toned milk and curds. Walking is best exercise to reduce weight besides yoga and meditation.

9 Causes Of Dyspareunia And Its Treatment!

D.E.H.M
Sexologist, Faridabad
9 Causes Of Dyspareunia And Its Treatment!

Pain during or after sexual intercourse is known as dyspareunia. Although this problem can affect men, it is more common in women. Women with dyspareunia may have pain in the vagina, clitoris or labia. There are numerous causes of dyspareunia, many of which are treatable.

Common causes include the following:

  1. Vaginal dryness
  2. Atrophic vaginitis, a common condition causing thinning of the vaginal lining in postmenopausal women
  3. Side effects of drugs such as antihistamines and tamoxifen (Nolvadex and other brands)
  4. An allergic reaction to clothing, spermicides or douches
  5. Endometriosis, an often painful condition in which tissue from the uterine lining migrates and grows abnormally inside the pelvis
  6. Inflammation of the area surrounding the vaginal opening, called vulvar vestibulitis
  7. Skin diseases, such as lichen planus and lichen sclerosus, affecting the vaginal area
  8. Urinary tract infections, vaginal yeast infections, or sexually transmitted diseases
  9. Psychological trauma, often stemming from a past history of sexual abuse or trauma.

Symptoms of Dyspareunia:
Women with dyspareunia may feel superficial pain at the entrance of the vagina or deeper pain during penetration or thrusting of the penis. Some women also may experience severe tightening of the vaginal muscles during penetration, a condition called vaginismus.

Diagnosis:
Your health practitioner will check for the following things

  1. If there was ever a time you had painless intercourse or if you have always had dyspareunia
  2. If you have enough natural lubrication and if your symptoms improve when you use commercially available lubricants
  3. About your sexual history (to help assess your risk for sexually transmitted infections)
  4. If you have ever been sexually abused or had a traumatic injury involving your genitals.

Treatment:

  1. Lubrication with an over-the-counter lubricant such as K-Y jelly.
  2. Antifungal medication(if you have any kind of fungal infection)
  3. Sitz baths for removing the inflammation
  4. For skin diseases affecting the vaginal area, lichen sclerosus and lichen planus often improve with steroid creams.
  5. Therapies include topical estrogen cream, low-dose pain medications, and physical therapy with biofeedback to lower the muscle tension in the pelvic floor
  6. Surgeries can also be prescribed for abnormal growths

For dyspareunia that has no apparent physical cause or has lasted for months or years, you may need psychological counseling to address stress or anxiety regarding sexual intercourse. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Sexologist.

IS using condom to cover the penis whie intercourse is helpful? If is it so then in my case my husband fingered me without washing his hands. So is there a chance of being pregnant?

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
No chance as sperms get dead when in comes in contact with air. Condom can break while sex so you need to check for that. That is the reason condom is effective in 98% and not 100%.

Hello, for gaining weight, you should take diet with high calorie content. You can take banana, mango, full cream milk and cheese. You can take sweets and chocolates also. If you are giving breast feeds to your daughter, stop it as it is not sufficient for her now.

Eat your regular diet ( preferably freshly home made food ). Have all kinds of fruits and vegetables ( organic products if possible). Maintain ideal weight by exercising every day. Take proper rest ( sleep for 6-8 hrs everyday at fixed time). Do yoga which can balance your hormonal irregularities and help you conceive naturally. Just relax and do your best. If needed you can add Homeopathy which can support your immune system to work efficiently. Do go for a routine checkup with your gynecologist and follow the instructions. Revert with any new updates or if you have any questions.
