Chemical Peeling - What Is It?

Chemical Peeling - What Is It?

Chemical peeling is a skin treatment which involves the peeling of the old skin and its replacement by a new layer of skin. It is generally done on the face, neck or arms and the process involves the application of a chemical solution over the skin in order to improve the overall appearance. The chemical peeling process is generally used to treat common skin disorders like  - acne, wrinkles, scars, and such others.

Common uses

The chemical peeling process is mostly used to treat skin ailments in general. Some of the most common uses of a chemical peeling are as follows:

  • Reducing fine lines on the face
  • Curing and preventing certain types of acne
  • Removing light to mild scars
  • Treating wrinkles on the face
  • Healing damages caused due to sun burns
  • Reducing age spots, dark patches and freckles on the face
  • Improving the softness and overall quality of skin

What should you keep in mind before opting for a chemical peel?

A chemical peel is a huge step towards the treatment of your skin, thus, you should always consult a dermatologist before actually opting for a chemical peeling process. It is a highly recommended measure because chemical peeling in some cases might not suit your skin. So, a complete skin diagnosis by a doctor helps to minimize the possible side effects related to the chemical peeling process. In general, this process is preferred in cases of people having a fair toned skin accompanied by a light hair growth. Before you get a chemical peel done, your doctor might just examine your medical history in order to stop certain medications that you are taking currently. Additionally, the doctor might also prescribe you certain medications, such as Retin-A, Renova, or glycolic acid to boost up the peeling process. The doctor may also prescribe antibiotics or antiviral drugs to ensure that the process is not having any side effects.

How is it actually done?

Chemical peels are usually done after a proper cleansing of the skin and then choosing the appropriate type of peel to suit your skin type. After cleansing of the skin the doctor usually applies a chemical solution such as glycolic acid, trichloroacetic acid, salicylic acid, lactic acid, or carbolic acid (phenol) - to small areas of your skin. The peeling process usually lasts for a few minutes and the chemical helps in making controlled wounds on the skin in order to damage the old skin and allow the new skin to grow.

How to Manage Your Stress

How to Manage Your Stress

Stress Management

Stress is a phenomenon which makes us fight the acutely dangerous situations.

The FIGHT or FLIGHT esponse

Is stress really bad?
How and why you get stress.
Dealing with distress.
Becoming a winner

Stress is a psychological and physiological response to events that upset our personal balance in some way.

These events or demands are known as stressors. Stressors are present everywhere all the time.

Stress is a condition or feeling experienced when a person perceives that demands exceed the personal and social resources the individual is able to mobilize

The stress response

The short-term 'Fight or flight' response - basic survival instinct.

The long-term 'General Adaptation Syndrome' - a long-term effect of exposure to stress.

A third mechanism comes from

'The way we think and interpret the situations in which we find ourselves.'

Stress Management

The effective goal of stress management is the effective use of energy by:

Learning to recognize the symptoms of stress
Learning skills to control these symptoms
Practicing and using these skills
Find Ways to Dispel Stress

If you feel stress building, take a break. Walk away from the situation. Take a stroll around the block, sit on a park bench, or spend a few minutes meditating. Exercise does wonders for the psyche by releasing endorphins, the 'feel good hormones' But even just finding a quiet place and listening to your iPod can reduce stress.

Cultivate allies at work. Just knowing you have one or more co-workers who are willing to assist you in times of stress will reduce your stress level. Just remember to reciprocate and help them when they are in need

Management of Self

Shying away from Stressors is not going to solve your problem.

1.Have realistic expectations
2.Reframe problems
3.Accept. Don't live in Denial
4.Excessive involvement. Don't try to control events or other people

1.Maintain your sense of humor
2.Express your feelings instead of bottling them up
3.Whatever may be the stage of life, remember change is inevitable, circumstances as well as roles in life.
4.Remain adaptable and open to change.

Avoid comparison. The grass is always greener on the other side

When it comes to mind and matter

If you don't mind, it doesn't matter!

How ro get fair skin tone and glowing skin? How to get rid of blackheads and pimples?

How ro get fair skin tone and glowing skin? How to get rid of blackheads and pimples?
The skin can lose its glow and get dull and discoloured. Sun exposure, Chloasma, freckles and scars due to acne are just a few reasons. Although not a life-threatening issue, people with dull and darkened facial skin usually consider it a life-altering one, leading to feelings of inadequacy and decreased self-confidence. This, in most cases, leads to the haphazard use of cosmetics and medicated ointments. However, only temporary results are usually found and in some cases injudicious use of such products may even aggravate the condition. This brings us to the scope of Homeopathic treatment in such cases. We can confidently say that homeopathic remedies for clear and glowing skin are totally free from any side effects and are extremely effective in treating this problem. The medicines used are all natural and, thus, free from any harmful components..consult me by clicking on consult option for homoepathic treatment without side effects.
