I have been observing since two shaves, skin darkening all over throat and I don't know why, even I use good quality razors, gel and aftershave lotions. Can you suggest any remedy and reasons why it is happening. And I never over-scratch skin to get greenish effect!

MBBS, MD - Social & Preventive Medicine / Community Medicine, Fellowship of european union of sexual medicine, Fellowship in diabetes
Sexologist, Chandrapur
Its a skin reaction to friction. Alternatively you also may have got an infection if you have an itching too. If not that I would recommend to not to shave for 2 weeks and use medicated mosituriser daily.

How to stop running nose of a seven months boy baby and also cough? Will you please provide food diet chart for that baby?

PDDM, MHA, MBBS
General Physician, Nashik
Giving steam inhalation or use of humidifiers should be helpful by helping in diluting the cough. Just sit with the baby on your lap and place the source of steam before you. The water vapour will be in the air and automatically the child will breathe it in. Irrespective of the measures, it will last for 5-10 days. Please be patient. But if the child grows lethargic or develops wheezing, you would have to take him to a pediatrician without delay. Otherwise I would not really worry.

I have a problem of Snore at night what I do to stop it. Is it a type of any disease how I prevent it.

DORL, MBBS
Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Specialist, Faridabad
This is all related to your unhealthy diet schedule, snoring is seen mainly in those who take alcohol or those who are obese, when there is any nasal obstruction or any soft palate laxity so get the ct scan of nose and sinus and along with that you have to get sleep study as well as snoring leads to cardiac problem

Gargling with warm salt water is an effective way to treat a sore throat. Salt can even help kill the bacteria or virus causing pharyngitis. 1. Mix three teaspoons of salt (preferably sea salt) in two cups of warm water. 2. Gargle with this solution. Do not swallow it. Spit the water out after gargling. 3. Do this several times daily for one to two days. Also take bryonia 30 - thrice daily for next 3 days.

I am 58 yrs old male. My taste of mouth has lost since last 2 yrs. I had sinus problem & I operate it but no gain in taste. What to do?

MBBS, DGO (cal)
General Physician,
Loss of taste is a common symptom of gastroesophageal reflux disease (gerd), salivary gland infection, sinusitis, poor dental hygiene, or even certain medicines. The medical term for a complete loss of taste is ageusia. A partial loss of taste is called dysgeusia. Loss of taste is caused by interruption of the transfer of taste sensations to the brain, or by a problem with the way the brain interprets these sensations. Although taste problems are common, complete loss of taste is rare. Loss of taste in mouth can be a sign of a serious condition. Seek prompt medical care if your loss of taste in mouth is persistent or causes you concern. A senior consultant in general medicine / internal medicine can help you.

He is suffering from meniere disease and vertigo problem. Any precautions please suggest.

MS - ENT
Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Specialist, Gandhinagar
Meniere disease is usually treated symptomatically by giving anti vertigo medicines, vitamins and many times by giving vasodilators. If it is too frequent certain surgical remedies are there but still it has a doubtful outcome.
