Normally you don't need medicie to bring about breast milk.as you desire to feed baby, milk formation takes place.no drugs needed.futher normal balanced diet is needed with extra calories nd proteins say 10percent extra.it should contain cereals, fruits,,pulses and nuts Green vegitables..

My son is 2 year old, he is not trying to stanup by his own from sitting to standing position. He can walk and sit properly. Also nit speaking too many words, 3-4 words he speaks. Actually we never tried to learn him words. We consulted with Pediatric. He suggested blood test CPK and Vitamin D. His CPK is under control at 86 and Vitamin D is 14.6 which is insufficient. Our next appointment with Dr. is next week. He said first he will check the blood report and than suggest for MRI. From the blood test can MRI avoided. He said it may be muscle problem. Pl advise. Thanks.

Abnormalities in muscle tone and power. Following are the possibilities: Hypertonia: cerebral palsy, which affects about 1 in 400 children in the UK.[3]Delayed walking may be the first presentation in milder cases (hemiplegia, spastic diplegia). Muscular dystrophy: it is common to find a history of delayed walking in Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) but less so in Becker's muscular dystrophy, as it has a later onset. DMD is the most common hereditary neuromuscular disease and it is progressive. Baby boys are often normal at birth and delayed walking may only be identified retrospectively, with symptoms really appearing between 4 and 6 years of age. Hypotonia of any cause - eg, Down's syndrome, Prader-Willi syndrome, Tay-Sachs disease, Williams' syndrome and so on.

My 3 week old baby falls asleep during feedings and just won't burp. I hold him upright for up to half an hour while patting her back pretty well. He is drinking both formula and breast milk (both from the bottle). At times he will burp twice and I lay her down, he gets uncomfortable and cries a little, I pick her up and he burps again. I have to do this every 5 to 10 minutes sometimes. Often he will demand more milk when he looks uncomfortable from what seems like gas as he does pass gas after squirming and crying some. Tell me what to do. ?

Small babies should be given only breast milk. They get uncomfortable due to gas, but feel good after burping or passing wind. If your child cries it doesn't mean he is demanding feed. Overfeeding usually causes the problems you are describing. Stop formula, and give only breast milk when the earlier feed you have given is likely to be digested. It usually takes 2 hours for that.

We had given Vaccination to our 3 months old baby boy on 17 Jan 2018 in which polio drops were also included. Now there was polio vaccination yesterday. But we did not give him yesterday as we gave him on 17 Jan 2018. Is it ok or did we do a mistake by not giving him polio vaccine yesterday.

The idea of pulse polio is to give mass vaccination of inactivated polio virus as to get total immunity of the population called as" herd immunity" in mass immunisation programmes, in addition to protecting your baby you will help in achieving containment if wild polio virus by replacing it with inactivated virus from the polio drops. You aren t doing harm to your baby by not putting the drops as she will be protected from last vaccination, but if lot of people get left out then the wild virus can re emerge in such population. So if there is home visit for putting polio drops please get it done. And next month pulse polio programme is there as well. Don't miss it. Best wishes.

It could be some infection or blockage of lacrimal duct. Put 2 drops of breast milk in each eye and carfully massage the medial side of eye downwards over the lateral side of nose. Do this twice daily and you can also use ciplox drops 3-4 times a day in both eyes.

What Causes Early Childhood Trauma? + How to Identify this Condition?

Phd, Mphil, MSc, Bed, BA (Clinical Psychologist and Parent Child Relationship Expert)

What Causes Early Childhood Trauma? + How to Identify this Condition?

The problem of early childhood trauma refers to disturbing experiences that take place in children during 0-6 years of age. The traumas that young children experience can be the effects of natural disaster, war or accidents or that of intentional violence like sexual abuse, domestic violence or physical abuse.

What Does this Condition Impact Childhood?

Traumatic events have a significant impact on your child's life and can break his sense of safety. The problem has been linked with a decrease in the size of the brain cortex. This is the part of the brain that controls several complex functions like thinking, consciousness, memory, attention, awareness, and language. The changes that occur as a result can affect your child's IQ as well as his or her ability to control emotions. As a consequence, he or she may harbor feelings of danger and become more afraid or it may manifest in other personality issues which are not very obvious.

How do you identify this condition?

Generally, children who suffer from traumas face problems in regulating their emotions and behaviors.

They may display signs like:

- Fear of new situations
- Being clingy to their parent(s) or somebody close
- Become easily frightened
- Display aggressive and/or impulsive behavior

- Are difficult to comfort
- Display deterioration in behavior and functioning
- Easily forget newly attained developmental skills
- Difficulty in sleeping

Depending on the age during which your child may go through a traumatic event, he or she can exhibit signs relevant to his or her age.

For instance:

Children aged 0-2 years may also display reactions like poor verbal skills, memory problems, excessive temper, experience nightmares, etc.

On the other hand, children aged 3-6 years can face difficulties in learning as well as develop poor skill and learning disabilities, face problems in social interaction, may be unable to trust people and so on.

If this condition remains unattended or unresolved for longer, it may create personality issues and can deeply impact the individual's relationships, or equations in the society, as they grow up and even after they become adults. In fact, many behavioral problems can be traced back to childhood trauma.
