Avoid all junk food and all sweet food. Low fat diet does not work for majority of people. Eat wholesome nutritious food full of fibres, good quality fat like ghee and coconut etc. Don't focus on calories but on nutritional density and diversity. Simultaneously working on exercise and diet will surely help. Best rate to lose weight is 1/2 kg per week. If that happens, it is least likely to go high again in future. You do not have to do rigorous exercise to lose weight but start with something small. Let us say 8 minute workout. Go to you tube and type 8 minute workout and you will see many options. Pick one which you like and can do. Trying to lose weight in very short time will need some form of crash diet. Even if you lose weight doing this kind of crash diet, you will get it all back within no time and all the gain will be mainly fat. Not good for your health. Be gentle and patient with yourself. Demonstrate commitment in your persistent efforts. Make comprehensive change in diet, exercise, sleep and stress in your routine. This is called lifestyle medicine. If you can not do it on your own, find some expert who can help you in this over extended period of time. Best wishes.

Dear Doctor, I have taken a total blood test by thyrocare. Everything seems to be normal except cholesterol levels. Below are the test results. Can you please suggest whether I need to undergo medication. Total cholesterol: 274 mg/dl HDL Cholesterol direct: 38 mg/dl LDL Cholesterol direct: 195 mg/dl Triglycerides: 181 mg/dl TC/HDL CHOLESTEROL ratio: 7.3 LDL/HDL ratio: 5.2 VLDL Cholesterol: 36.2 Non HDL Cholesterol 236.4 Thanks in advance. Dear Cholesterol is made in liver. Food does not alter this. Exercise regular with healthy diet will help you. You are young. Avoid medicines. Vm.

I have a dark pimple scar in my forehead and left side of my nose. I have a very oily and sensitive skin due to which I get a lot of acnes and pimples in my face and forehead. My skin has tanned a lot due to my blue collar job profile. I also have fatty liver and uric acid for which I am presently taking zyloric 100 mg and ayurvedic medicine for liver. Mother aged 57 years says somebody speaking to her often and believes it is God ,some times gets confused is it God? She used to go brahmakumaris ashram, all my mother aged are normal, good and healthy. But my mother is stressed, unhealthy and worried about the talking she gets. Even brahmakumaris sisters asked to consult psychiatrist for solution.

It is possible she is having auditory hallucinations. Please take her to a psychiatrist for detailed assessment. If it auditory hallucinations, it can be treated with medications. It is better to get her checked immediately before the situation worsens.

Lybrate-user kidney diseases can be a cause of back pain. But more common cauces must be first ruled out. Secondly in kidney diseases you have a no of symptoms related to ypuir urinary system. So incase someone is having backache it necessarily dose not mean it is due to kidney problem.

Yes. It is probably bacterial vaginitis. It is advisable that your partner consults a gynaecologist personally, get examined and start treatment. Till then abstain from vaginal intercourse.

Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times.
