Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. I need to understand what do you actually mean by muscle weakness? have you got it checked somewhere and a proper motor charting is done or is it a feeling which you have? also please tell me whether you are suffering from any long term illness for which you take medicines or have previously taken. If not, then my advise to you is to get some blood tests done: cbc, esr, crp, serum electrolytes, serum vitamin d levels and then see whats the reports. Get x rays of knees ap view (single joint weight bearing) lateral view it happens in osteoarthritis. Treatment will depend upon x ray findings.

Hi = relax and stay positive. = increase fluid intake. = eat seasonal fruits for natural vitamins = do stretching of hamstring, quadriceps, and calf muscles. = if you are overweight, reduce weight by cycling or swimming as it gives low impact on joints. = do check your calcium and vit. D = apply moist heat pad to affected joint and muscles. If still you dont get relief see a physiotherapist as there are various causes for leg/ joint pain and some test may be required for further investigation. Best wishes.

1. You have to maintain correct posture first, sit properly with back rest on the pillow, walk straight with your shoulder protracted. 2. While lying down on your bed, keep pillow under your knees. 3. While side lying, keep pillow between the knees. 4. Have balanced diet which is rich in calcium. 5. Drink lots of water, it will keep supple your joints. 6. Morning walk and sunbath is must for at least 15-20 mins. Perform back care exercises, which i'll teach you in the next session. Thanks.

I have been suffering from back pain. Which kind of medicine and home remedy you'll prefer?
Dear low back pain k liye you can do it perfectly. 1, lying on your stomach, prop yourself up on your forearms. Align your elbows directly under your shoulders. Press firmly through your palms and the tops of your feet. Press your pubic bone forward. You will feel sensations in your lower back, but breathe through it. You are allowing blood flow int from all-fours, bring your right knee behind your right wrist with your lower leg at a diagonal toward your left hip. Square off your hips toward the ground. Bend forward. Widen the elbows and place one hand on top of the other as a pillow for your forehead. Hold 2-3 minutes and then switch to the left side for 2-3 minutes. O the lower back for healing. Hold for 1-3 minutes. 2. Lying on your back, bend both knees with the feet flat on the ground. Bend the right knee like a figure four, with the outer left ankle to the right thigh. Lift the left foot into the air, bringing the left calf parallel to the ground. Thread your right hand between the opening of the legs and interlace your hands behind your left thigh. Hold 2-3 minutes and then repeat on the other side 3scoot your buttocks all the way into the wall and swing your feet up the wall. This pose is excellent for relaxing the muscles of the lower back and drains stagnant fluid from the feet and ankles. Do this pose after a challenging workout and always after traveling by plane. Hold for 5-10 minutes. I hope you will fit and fine.

Apply prasarini oil or pranacharya restopain oil on affected part then give hot fomentation. Take maharasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. 1-1 tab yograj guggul after lunch and dinner. Avoid tea. Coffee. Junk food. Spicy food. Fermented food. Take green vegetables. Drink juice. Eat fruits. Drink 7-8 glass of water in a day. Take 7 hours sleep minimum. Do pranayama early morning. It might be a cramp. This usually happens due to muscle tightness & weakness. It is also associated with calcium & protein deficieny through your diet. At your age this would be the only possibility. So add up some exercises and improve your diet.

I am 29 years old and I suffering neck muscle pain sinch 6 years and I do x ray it shows muscle spasm and degenrative changes so please give me advise surgical and non surgical.

Hello, * heamoglobin level falls under d following reasons * pernecious anaemea. * difficiency of oxygen/ iron * less calorie value, taken. * drug abused anaemia. In your case, it seems your intake is irregular & improper. * go for a wslk in d morning homoeo- med** @ ferrum met 30-6pills, thrice a day. @ china 200-6pills, twice a day pills no 40. * maintain 1200-1600, calories. * take, digestible diet, timely, avoiding junk food * take, care.

Yes part of aging. Exercise, healthy diet reduces the risk. Sleep becomes light after 50. Needd 6 hours of sleep.

I had been doing Martial arts for 9 years without any issues. But now my abs are getting bad curves and my muscle growth is hampered. My muscles have grown stiff allowing hardly any flexibility.

Bhujang Asana -- Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Actually `there are very few conditions in orthopaedics which will cause rib cage pain, usually it can be upper back pain radiating to sides or sometimes there can be inflammation of the costochondral junctions where ribs join the sternum, we have to see whether there is any other medical cause to it. My advise is to take a short course of anti-inflammatory medication which suits you, start with physical therapy and see whats happening in 10 days time, otherwise I will advise few blood tests for you as well as an opinion from a pulmonologist/chest physician.
