Botox is a component made from the bacteria that help in removing facial wrinkles, neck muscle spasms and also used to treatment stiffness in the limbs. Cosmetically, Botox is considered to be very safe and powerful in removing facial wrinkles, especially in the forehead. The solution toxin is injected into or under the wrinkled muscles help the muscles relax. The wrinkles eventually get smoothened and the skin becomes normal after two days. However the injected part remains visible for two days and may take up to three weeks for smoothening. The injected muscles generally regain their lost activity slowly and return to be fully functional muscles after three to four months of treatment. The cosmetologist decides to continue or stop the treatment based on the skin type of the patient and can suggest for repetition if needed to retain the smoothness. There may be chances of getting infection and pain after having the treatment. If so, the patient should inform the cosmetologist immediately. It is important to see if the Botox used is clinically tested before getting injected. Pregnant ladies are not advised to have Botox since it can affect the fetus and may cause harmful side effects for the growing baby. Cosmetologists will also not recommend the usage of Botox for patients having heart disease and are using blood thinner.
