There is gap between my all upper front 6 teeth and they are slightly slant. They are slightly outside than lower. So is there any solution to get rid of this gap? I also feel pain in upper teeth sometimes. Give any solution.

Hello There are various options to treat your teeth such as tooth coloured restorations, crowns, veneers, orthodontic braces or aligners. Post a consultation everything can be discussed as the treatment plan depends upon the spacing between the teeth and the extent of slant. The best option to treat such cases are naturally without comprising on the tooth and that's through orthodontic intervention that could be either braces or aligners. But as I said post a consultation the treatment plan can be decided. Regarding your pain you need to get clinically evaluated to get the right diagnosis and then plan the treatment. Take care Keep smiling.

Hello Depending on an x ray and examination the treatment plan can be discussed in detail. In case of missing teeth you can go for either of the procedures. Remember in implants you are working on the missing teeth area but for a bridge you are compromising the tooth structure of a healthy tooth. Im some cases bridge is advisable and in some only implants. Post a dental check up things can be explained in more detail and with lot more clarity. Take care keep smiling!

Hello if I'm not mistaken if the fillings are tooth coloured ones (composite) then it doesn't matter and the crowns post the root canal treatment should be a zirconia crown. Rest it all depends on the armed forces selection criteria. This is my personal experience with few of my patients who were going for the same few years back. All the best!

Hello If the filling is tooth colored filling then not to worry and if they are silver filling would recommend that you should get these fillings replaced by cosmetic fillings (Composite Fillings). Post the colored fillings you won't have any problem.

DENTAL CHECK UP- The often neglected part of Health Care

MDS Endodontist, Fellow of Academy of General Education (FAGE), BDS
Dentist,
DENTAL CHECK UP- The often neglected part of Health Care

Dental check up - the often neglected part of health care

So how often do you really need a dental check-up? your colleague in the next cubicle goes three times annually, and your best friend sees the dentist just once a year and your parents have never been to the dentist unless they have a problem. Confused?

Here's the professional answer to all your doubts. Even though many of us might think that our teeth are in good shape, regular visits to the dentist are very important. Your oral health depends on two factors: brushing and flossing regularly and seeing your dentist every six months for an oral examination and professional teeth cleaning. You will not be alone in wondering why you need to visit a dental professional so often if you are taking good care of your teeth and gums. But even the most diligent of us can miss hard to reach areas of the mouth and leave them vulnerable to tooth decay and periodontal (gum) disease. Your six monthly oral examination will ensure that your dentist spots any problem at an early stage and addresses these adequately. Moreover, regular professional teeth cleaning will ensure that one prevents many oral health issues from occurring in the first place saving you both physical and financial pain that is sure to occur if you neglect your teeth and allow problems to develop.

Periodic and timely care and prevention of diseases in the mouth are the best possible care you can give your teeth. Tackling problems early will save your teeth from root canal treatment of worse still, having to be extracted. So, spend your money and time wisely- get to the dentist on a regular basis rather than after things have gone wrong!

Always remember a healthy smile is a beautiful smile and we will help you flaunt that smile.

Brushing Teeth the Right Way

MDS Endodontist, Fellow of Academy of General Education (FAGE), BDS
Dentist,
Brushing Teeth the Right Way

The correct way to care for your best food partners - your teeth!

The best way to brush is to mentally divide your teeth into 4 equal areas (quadrants). It is important to spend at least 30 seconds on each quadrant, adding up to a total of 2 minutes each time you brush.

Here is what you need to bear in mind -
Squeeze a small amount of toothpaste on to your toothbrush.
Look in the mirror while you brush your teeth and see where the brush is actually going. It's easy to miss the area right at the gum line, which is the most important part
The trick is to brush very gently as brushing vigorously can erode tooth enamel

Now that you are ready to start, here is how to brush your teeth right -

Step 1 - start with the outer and inner surfaces. Brush your teeth at a 45-degree angle in short half-tooth-wide strokes against the gum line
Step 2 - hold the brush flat and brush back and forth on the chewing surface
Step 3 - on inside surfaces of front teeth, tilt the brush vertically and use gentle up and down strokes.
Step 4 - use a tongue cleaner in a back-to-front sweeping motion to remove food particles and freshen your mouth. Don't press too hard, or you'll end up damaging the tissues.

Start following a healthy oral regimen today.

Keep smiling!

Hello lybrate-user the problem is because you are not brushing the right way and not maintaining your oral hygiene properly. Would recommend you should visit your dentist and thoroughly get your teeth cleaned (scaling) and follow the preventive instructions given post treatment.
