Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Your wife's symptoms may not be linked as lower back pain and stomach pain may be different. Please tell me duration of pain and mode of onset. I would also like to ask you if it is associated with any leg pain or any other neurological symptoms like numbness, paraesthesias ( electrical shock like abnormal sensations) or any weakness in limbs. Can you also enclose her x rays so that I can see them, how much distance can she walk and does she require pain killers regularly. Also send me the blood investigation reports so that I can also see if there is any deficiency? do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

Hi Thanks for your query and welcome to Lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from Fortis hospital, New Delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - To maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - If pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - Physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - Adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - Ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - Analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - Avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc We will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. You can also discuss your case and treatment plans with me in a greater detail in a private consultation. This is internal impingement. You have shoulder dyskinesia which is common in badminton players. You need to strengthen your shoulder and core body muscles.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. There are many causes of pain in neck region. It can be due to faulty posture, related to weak muscles, issues with intervertebral disc, narrowing of spinal canal, any bony instability besides many other, so accurate diagnosis is the key to proper management of the condition. You will have to elaborate your problem as to a detailed discussion of your neck pain which means duration of pain and mode of onset. I would also like to ask you if it is associated with any radiating upper limb pain or any other neurological symptoms like numbness, paraesthesias (electrical shock like abnormal sensations) or any weakness in limbs. Please also tell me about any associated symptoms like fever, weight loss etc. What medications you generally take and what has been your treatment history till now for existing problem. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. You can also discuss your case and treatment plans with me in a greater detail in a private consultation. Thanks & regards

I (29 yrs old, female) initially had pain occasionally in my left foot, which followed only after a lot of walking or carrying the kid for long. When I consulted the doctor, he said that I have a kind of flat foot. He adviced me to have tendocare- once daily for 3 weeks. After I had the medicine for 5 days, the pain increased so much so that I am barely being able to walk properly now. Curving my left foot's thumb towards the body, makes me feel a sensation that is close to a pricking nail (at the point the foot has an arch). The pain is continous (even when I am not walking), getting unbearable & disturbing. Please suggest urgently.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Actually it is very difficult to point out a cause of your pain without examining you in detail but it can be helpful if you can send me a clinical picture of your foot region with painful site marked. Also can you please tell me what investigations have you got done for yourself till now? are there any s/s of inflammation like swelling, skin redness or any local warmth as well? do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. You can also discuss your case and treatment plans with me in a greater detail in a private consultation.

I am a 21 year old male and have a dull pain under my lower left rib which lasts for upto 10-15 seconds. After that I feel comfortable as if nothing happened. Today it has happened only two times. At the time of pain it worsens when I breathe deeply or try to speak. I have recovered from jaundice recently. What does this pain indicate?

You need to improve the tone of the muscles in a rhythmical manner. If you do that with proper diet restriction nothing will happen to you. Body pain is there after gym activity due to tiredness and you need to consume good protein and iron diet in your body which will help you to break the fatigue and body pain. You have to reduce the weight by walking minimum 3-4 kms per day. Slowly reduce the weight and slowly avoid adding salt in the diet which will help you to prevent water retention in the body. Excess salt in general leads to water in the body which might be the reason for you legs to pain as the leg will automatically become oedematous.
