What are treatment available for prostate cancer. And suggest his diet. Reason behind.
Hi lybrate-user, I appreciate you seeking help. As far as I understand, there is a wide spectrum of diagnostics/ treatment available these days, for cancers of the prostate. I would advise that you visit an expert oncologist specializing in genito-urinary cancers who can clinically evaluate the case and take it forward as would deem appropriate contextually. Simultaneously, please note that an integrative treatment with alternative medicines can improve clinical outcomes too. As regards diet, a healthy and balanced Mediterranean diet and an active lifestyle helps during the treatment. You can connect with relevant details, for the specifics. Hope this helps. Do take care and all the very best.

Wether you will be alright after 3 months will depend on the improvement in symptoms you show over 3 months. If you continue to be symptomatic after 3 months you might need to continue it even for alonger period of time.

" well differentiated oral squamous Cell Carcinoma" as stated it is an early staged cancer that needs attention. I would like to ask a few Qs which go unanswered by the docs in hospitals. Is it a mandate to go for the surgery or it is subject to the CT scan reports and blood reports. Second- I need a second opinion and detailed discussion to understand the procedures. Who can help. Would like to consult a surgical oncologist.

DNB (Surgical Oncology)
Oncologist, Kolkata
The ideal treatment for early oral cancer is surgery. The cure rates are exceedingly high with surgery. Post surgery radiotherapy can be given depending upon the final pathological staging. Ct scan is a useful guide before surgery.

Please send me all the reports so that I can opine better. Breast cancer is almost 80-95% curable in early stage if all the proper treatment is taken. But you have defaulted at every stage. We advise Bisphosphonates or Denosumab for the bony mets. Tamoxifen or AI to be given if hormone receptor positive. I would have a better idea if you send the reports. Feel free to contact me directly if you want to discuss this further.

Hi lybrate-user, I appreciate you seeking help. Well, given the short description of the issue, it is difficult on my part to recommend anything in specific. I would require more details including the diagnostics, biopsy report, treatment history etc all to be able to advise in particular. Nevertheless, make sure to include more of fresh turmeric, red grapes, pineapple juice, green tea, leafy greens etc all in your daily diet. Supplement diet with vitamin d3 appropriately. Stay well hydrated and keep your lifestyle streamlined. An integrative therapy with natural medicines can help improve clinical outcomes. Hope this helps.

Hello lybrate-user, I understand that it is very tough to convince parents for leaving this bad habit. However, you can show my answer to him to further convince him. In my clinical practice, I have seen a lot of patients suffering from oral cancer who had addiction to tobacco. Chewing tobacco is definitely really bad for health. It can cause cancer too. It is a very poor addiction which will damage oral health. The teeth will be stained making the look ugly and the mouth will be full of non healing ulcers if he doesn't give up this bad habit. Its my strong request to persuade your father to stop chewing tobacco. If he feels difficult to abstain, I can prescribe some medicines for same. However, will power is most important for leaving this bad habit.

I have a swollen lymph node on the right side of my neck from two months it comes with a very bad cold but till now its not gone and I am still having infection in my throat I also done a needle biopsy and everything came back normal but neither the infection nor the enlarged lymph node is gone. What should I do?

DNB, MBBS
Oncologist, Faridabad
You must take a good course of antibiotics and anti allergic. You can check your sputum for sensitivity of antibiotics. Lymph node enlargement may be infection related though it is surprising why you have it for so long. Beyond this I need to examine and check your immune status to know the cause of infection.
