Asked for male, 35 years old from Navi Mumbai
Its its harmful to my body if I am not taking medicine for thyroid. And if possible by natural way I can manage by fitness or doing gyme please suggest.
Lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. A person with Hypothyroidism needs to take levothyroxine in adequate dose and control TSH around 3 to 4 mU/L. Otherwise, there is no other method to maintain good health. There is no "Natural" way to control it. Thanks.
Asked for female, 42 years old from Chandigarh
I have thyroid problem. When it was diagnosed TSH level was 9.3 in may 17. Than one of Dr. Has suggested thyrox25 mg one tab daily. After 3 months it came down to 4.3 level. In September it was again 4.6. But my weight was going up.in these months I gained almost 5-6 kgs. But in March 2018 again tsh level was at 7.35. Sir kindly suggest me thyrox 25 mg is sufficient for me. It's almost going one year to having it. Even than level is going high. Suggest me what to do. Because I am satisfied with the treatment.
Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. When one is taking adequate dosage of levothyroxine, TSH is maintained around 3 to 4 mU/L. At this level most of the symptoms including weight are in check. In fact it is better to maintain TSH around 2 to 3 mU/l. So you may have to increase the dosage by 12.5 mcg, then check TSH after 6 weeks. For weight reduction apart from TSH control strict diet and regular exercise of over 1 hour a day are needed. Thanks.

Dear lybrate-user An umbilical hernia is a common surgical condition and will lead to complication. I personally am of he opinion that there in nothing as unfit for surgery.
My mother has had pain in her left side of stomach but when she had gone for ultrasound doctor told that she has a gallstone of 5.7 mm but doctor told that it is in the right side of the stomach and there is only gas in the left side. Doctor has told that surgery is not necessary and we will take it out by medicines in course of three months. Is surgery is not necessary? And why she has pain in her left side of stomach?

Hello dear lybrate-user, Warm welcome to Lybrate.com I have evaluated your query thoroughly. When the pain is on left side means that gall stone is not the cause of pain and surgery is not necessary even if you will take surgery, pain will not go away! Hope this clears your query. Wishing you fine recovery. Welcome for any further assistance at my private URL https://www.Lybrate.com/gandhinagar/doctor/dr-bhagyesh-patel-general-surgeon Regards take care.

My Mother aged 67 years old has been suffering from high pressure (at present150/90), thyroid (under control as per latest report),& also of cholesterol (also under control) for more than 10-15 yrs. Recently her Fasting report shows that her sugar level is 134 & PP report is 175. Her pulse rate is 120. She has been taking medicines like telista mt50, stamlo5, thyrox 50, gluconorm sr, pan-D, cordarone, acitrom, rozucor10, lonapam 0.5,She has got vomiting tendency & also weakness. What should I do now? Whether the medicines prescribed by doctor are proper? So many medicines twice or thrice everyday is causing trouble .suggestion please.
As she is having so many problems of different types they have to be controlled with multiple medicines and few of them more than one time in a day. Dietary modifications and regular exercise like walking and yoga are helpful in diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol. Pan D should not be taken regularly for longer periods. It has serious side effects if taken continuously. Use of Lonapam should be discouraged. Fasting sugar needs attention. Discuss these issues with your Doctor.

Hi, My mother has stone in her gallbladder 3-4 mm, previously the stone was of 9-10 mm but when my mother started ayurvedic and home remedies, the size of stone reduced to 3-4 mm. I want to know what should we do to completely remove these stone, without operation. She is 45 years old.

Stones in the gallbladder doesn't need any treatment of there is no symptoms. Size of the stone increasing or decreasing in size is not a factor for treatment. If symptoms are there she need to get it removed by key hole surgery. The complications of gallstones disease can be sometimes very dangerous.
