Sex - What Can Go Wrong?

Yes we all desire for that perfect physical gratification that we get from being with our partners and we all look forward to a supercharged physical intimacy. However, what can go wrong with it? Most people will experience some sort of sexual difficulty at some point in their lifetime. Luckily, various healthcare professionals, including sex therapists and counselors, are trained to help people with these issues. Although individual cases vary in their specifics, a few sexual concerns are quite common.

Top Sexual Concerns among Women:
The top two sexual concerns for women are low desire or complete lack of sexual desire. Up to 40 percent of women report that they have little or no desire to have sex.

  1. Low Desire or Lack of Sexual Desire: Low desire or lack of desire is an increasing trend among women (and some men). Lack of desire is often accompanied by discussions about lack of time or energy for sex.
  2. Body Image Issues: Not liking what you see in the mirror can make the thought of being naked in front of someone else unpleasant.
  3. Aging and Hormonal Changes: Changes associated with menopause may conspire to reduce a woman's interest in sex. Hot flashes, night sweats and weight gain can be some of the causes.
  4. Relationship Conflicts: Conflict with one's partner over everyday issues, from money concerns to childbearing, can reduce feelings of desire.
  5. Unskilled Sexual Partners: People who are experiencing unsatisfactory sex often lose desire. The more bad sex you have, the less you want (conversely, the more good sex you have, the more you want).
  6. Medical Conditions: Certain medical conditions may affect sexual desire. One of the symptoms of depression, for example, is a lack of interest in sex.

What You Can Do?
First, you should work with your physician to rule out any physical reasons for low desire. Next, it is important to understand how your body responds to touch. Make time for self-pleasuring (masturbation) and explore your capacity to experience pleasure.

Hello, I have a question. What are the chances of getting pregnant if did not have sex. I had an intimate moment with my partner 4 days ago we did not have sex i’m still a virgin but he came (produced sperm) directly on my vulva. Is there a big chance of me getting pregnant? I heard that it is possible and i’m freaking out!

Eat something like a banana (if you are not diabetic) or any seasonal fruit or soaked almonds and a glass of water first thing in the morning (within 10 mins of waking up). No only biscuits or rusk will not do. 3. Take your breakfast every day. Don't skip it. 4. Have light meals every 2 hours (in addition to your breakfast, lunch n dinner) e.g. Nariyal paani, chaach, a handful of dry fruits, a handful of peanuts, any fresh n seasonal fruit, a cup of curd/milk etc 5. Finish your dinner at least 2 hours before going to sleep. 6. Maintain active life style. This is most important n non negotiable part 7. It is possible. Having unprotected sex at any time is very risky — a girl can even get pregnant if she has sex during her period. Along with the chance of becoming pregnant, there is also the risk of getting a sexually transmitted disease (STD), such as chlamydia, genital warts, or HIV.

There is itching and rashes on the external vulva or skin over vaginal opening. I had an intercourse on 9 Dec and had taken unwanted the next day. Is it the side effect of that tablet? Or I had my periods 10 days earlier this month? What can I do?

Some of the most common causes of genital rashes are infections: Jock itch, a fungal infection, or ringworm of the groin area. The rash is red, itchy, and scaly, and it may blister. Vaginal yeast infection, Avoid scented pads or toilet paper, creams, bubble bath, feminine sprays, and douches. Use water and a plain, unscented soap to regularly clean your external genital area. Always wipe from front to back after having a bowel movement.

You can do UPT today or tomorrow. If it’s positive consult your gynaecologist, don’t try at home. If negative then you need to wait or undergo certain tests to find out the cause.

Hello Dr. Again I take urine pregnancy test. It comes two pink lines. Tell mem I pregnant?
But in other cases, the positive line appears faded. In these instances, a faint positive can be caused by low levels of the pregnancy hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG. Home pregnancy tests are designed to detect this hormone. If hCG is present in your urine, you'll have a positive test result.
