Hi lybrate-user, your daughter is too young to suggest anything. But along with the antibiotics, you can give her water (boiled with turmeric and tulsi leaves) throughout the day, it will help to fight against infection. For more information contact me through Lybrate.

Exercise Guidelines For Healthy Adults!

If you have an active lifestyle and maintaining your weight, this is a good read for you. For most healthy adults, the Department of Health and Human Services recommends these exercise guidelines:

  • Aerobic activity:

Get at least 150 minutes a week of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes a week of vigorous aerobic activity. You also can do a combination of moderate and vigorous activity. The guidelines suggest that you spread out this exercise during the course of a week.

  • Moderate aerobic exercise:

It includes such activities as brisk walking, swimming and mowing the lawn.

  • Vigorous aerobic exercise:

It includes such activities as running and aerobic dancing.

  • Strength training:

Do strength training exercises at least twice a week. No specific amount of time for each strength training session is included in the guidelines. Strength training can include use of weight machines or activities such as rock climbing or heavy gardening.

As a general goal, aim for at least 30 minutes of physical activity every day.

Hi lybrate-user, a miscarriage is a devastating experience for any woman. Healing after a miscarriage requires plenty of rest, emotional support and a healthy diet. 1. Iron-rich foods miscarriage can cause women to feel fatigued and anaemic. In case of bleeding, iron deficiency may occur in the body. Hence, it is important to consume iron-rich foods to ensure that the iron level in the body is maintained. Iron is of two types, heme and non-heme iron. Heme-iron is found in foods from animal sources, such as red meats, poultry, and fish and seafood. Non-heme iron is found in plant sources, such as green leafy vegetables, nuts, lentils, beans, brussels sprouts, sesame seeds, and pumpkin seeds. 2. Calcium-rich foods during pregnancy, calcium reserves in the body are used up as the foetus needs calcium to develop a healthy heart, nerves, muscles, bones, and teeth. In case a miscarriage occurs, all that calcium is eliminated along with the pregnancy tissue, causing a calcium deficiency in the woman. Hence, it is important for women to eat calcium-rich foods like dark green leafy vegetables, dairy products, fish like sardines and salmon, and dry fruits. Grilled fish, palak paneer prepared with less oil etc. Are good options. 3. Folate-rich foods many women who experience a miscarriage plan to try to conceive again after recovery. In such a case, it is a good idea to consume folate-rich foods. Folate is found in dark green leafy vegetables like spinach, kale, and romaine lettuce. It is also found in asparagus, broccoli, citrus fruits, lentils, peas, avocado, ladies finger, squashes, brussels sprouts, seeds, and nuts. Palak, bhindi curry, chole etc. Are examples of folate-rich indian dishes. 4. Protein-rich foods the body requires protein to heal as the amino acids in these proteins help in cell repair. So, you should consume foods like eggs, lean meats, seafood, milk, cheese, yoghurt, lentils, and poultry. Vegetarian sources of protein are lentils, dairy products, and grains like quinoa, and buckwheat. If you wish to take detailed personalized diet please contact me through Lybrate.

Hello mam, this problem is because his digestive system is weak. To improve his digestive health you include following foods in his daily diet: 1. Yogurt contains prebiotics and probiotics which promote good bacteria growth in the gastrointestinal tract. 2. Water keeps you hydrated, aids in digestion. 3. Fruits and vegetables are high in fiber. Apples, beans or fruits with skin aid in healthy digestion, and berries and tomatoes contain antioxidants. Parents can most effectively get their kids to eat fruits and vegetables by modeling behavior and being creative. 4. Paired snacks like carrots and ranch or apples and peanut butter help kids feel full and energized from fat and protein. 5. Low-fat cheeses are a good source of calcium if a child cannot tolerate milk. Cheese is naturally lower in lactose. If you want a detailed diet plan for your child please contact through Lybrate.

Salad - Why To Have It?

Salad is no longer considered a poor man's diet. Gone are the days when the sole purpose of having a salad was to lose the stubborn and unwanted body fats. Salads can be extremely healthy and nutritious. With salads around, the long and gruesome hours in the kitchen are a thing of the past. A bowl full of lip-smacking salad, well structured with fruits, vegetables and quality oils, will do your health a world of good.

Say yes to salads and its benefits will leave you with a mouth open awe. Preparing salads is no rocket science. Get all the ingredients together, and savour in the palatable powerhouse of health and nourishment.

- A feeling of fullness like never before: Experiencing an irresistible craving for food? Salad is at your service. A bowl of salad will give you a feeling of fullness, keeping the hunger pangs and cravings at bay. With salads, you don't even need to be repetitive. A little modification; and your taste buds are in for a treat.

- Say no to dehydration: Most of the vegetables that go into your salad have high water content. Scorching summers or sweltering heat can leave a person dehydrated. Salads come as a great relief. It works amazingly to hydrate your body, thereby re-energizing you fully.

- Lettuce to fight insomnia: If a good sleep is all that you desire, salad is what you need. 'Lectucarium', a substance found in lettuce, work miraculously to treat insomnia. All the more reasons to include lettuce leaves in your salad.

- The goodness of vitamins and minerals are retained: A lot of important vitamins, minerals and some enzymes (mostly digestive, that gets denatured) are lost to cooking. Taking in raw vegetables ensure that the important vitamins and minerals are not lost. Some raw vegetables contain important enzymes (live) that can greatly aid in the digestion process.

- A salad rich in broccoli, avocados, bell peppers, berries are a rich source of antioxidants. Such salads work wonders and are an excellent boost for the immune system.

- Do not let wrinkles and saggy skin bother you. Some of the fruits and vegetables present in the salad help in collagen synthesis, thus giving your skin a natural glow. It is needless to say that spinach, lettuce and romaine, that form an integral part of your salads, are excellent for the eyesight.

- Walnut oil, sunflower oil (organic), olive oil and pumpkin seed oil are rich in omega fatty acids. Using these oils in salad dressings can be extremely beneficial.

- Some of the fibrous fruits and vegetables can effectively clean the intestine and colon.

The benefits of salads are immense.
