The channel of the throat also has the food pipe that allows easier swallowing of food. In some cases there could be swelling or inflammation here that leads to Trouble Swallowing. It is associated with pain when swallowing, food getting stuck in the throat and also evidently swollen nodes in the region. This can be experienced with some fever and coughing also.

Diagnosis of Trouble Swallowing is done by an ENT who checks the throat and may do an endoscopy or intrusive test to check for internal damage.

Treatment for Trouble Swallowing depends on the cause. Usually NSAIDS are given to reduce swelling along with having soft and warm foods that provide respite from the same. Along with this, antibiotics are given in some cases. If swelling is due to nodes or tonsils then surgery is done.
