Sinusitis, also known as sinus infection, is a common condition and this infection occurs when the sinuses and nasal passages become inflamed. Anyone can develop a sinus infection and a weak immune system, smoking, or a recent upper respiratory infection is the leading cause of Sinusitis. The signs and symptoms of Sinusitis include headache, sore throat, fatigue, runny nose, fever and cough.
HOW IS SINUSITIS DIAGNOSED?
Your general physician will examine you physically and may look for tenderness in your sinuses. You may need a nasal endoscopy in case of chronic or recurring sinusitis.
HOW IS SINUSITIS TREATED?
A simple Sinusitis inflammation can be treated through home treatments. For badly inflamed sinuses, antibiotic dosages are necessary. Warm moist air helps relieve symptoms of chronic Sinusitis. If medicines and antibiotics do not open the sinuses, surgical draining may be required.
