Diagnosis of Nocardiosis is done to identify the bacteria causing the infection. Biopsy of the affected part is commonly done to test for bacteria.
HOW IS NOCARDIOSIS TREATED?
All cases of Nocardiosis are treated with long-term and low-dose antibiotics known as sulfonamides. In a severe case of Nocardiosis wherein the patient develops an abscess due to this infection, the doctor may recommend a surgery.
