Hydrocephalus is a condition where a lot of fluid builds up in the brain and this causes problems in the normal functioning of the same. If not treated on time this can actually cause permanent damage to the brain. The most common signs are seen in toddlers as there is a drastic change in facial structure, constant head pain, trouble eating, lack of sleep, etc.
HOW IS HYDROCEPHALUS DIAGNOSED?
An Ultrasound, Computerized Tomography (CT) or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is conducted to diagnose Hydrocephalus, and in few cases, the doctor may conduct a physical examination to look for signs and symptoms of Hydrocephalus.
HOW IS HYDROCEPHALUS TREATED?
Usually there is no treatment available for this problem and children suffering from the same have to undergo medications all their life. They also need therapy for speech and motor skills.
