A close visual examination by the doctor to look out for live lice or their eggs on the hair. A fine-toothed comb is used to detect lice. The confirmation is done by verifying the lice or eggs under the microscope.
HOW IS HEAD LICE TREATED?
There are number of home treatments and over the counter shampoos available for treating lice. Combing hair with fine tooth comb helps remove nits. Topical lice treatments are also available for treating lice. Often 2-3 washes with such shampoos is required to treat lice.
