This is a condition where the tissue lining the inside of your uterus ends up growing outside the uterus. This can cause symptoms like debilitating pain and lots of bleeding even when you do not have periods. Lower back pain is also a common symptom of this condition and infertility may be an outcome of the same too.
HOW IS ENDOMETRIOSIS DIAGNOSED?
Diagnosis of the same is done through keeping a track of your periods through gynaecology. This is followed with an ultrasound examination, CT scan or even other forms of X-ray and physical examination like the pelvic region examination.
HOW IS ENDOMETRIOSIS TREATED?
The condition is incurable but there are medications and surgical options available to reduce the symptoms as they may disrupt your normal course of life. Pain relief medications, hormonal balancing pills (contraceptives), hormonal surgery or a conservative surgery are the treatment options available. Hysterectomy is suggested as the last resort.
