Crowded teeth are a type of malocclusion of teeth that leads to serious dental health complications. Teeth may not be able to perform vital functions due to crowding. Improper jaw structure or alignment, frequent use of pacifiers, thumb sucking, tumors or poor dental care may result in crowded teeth. Symptoms are:
• Misalignment of teeth
• Altered facial appearance
• Speech problems
• Discomfort while chewing or biting
• Frequent biting of cheeks or tongue

Teeth can be straightened with braces or with porcelain restorations placed on top of the teeth. Braces with surgery can be another option to treat crowded teeth. It would require cosmetic dentistry in the later stages for complete correction of crowded teeth.
