Colds are either common colds, chest colds or a head cold. They are illnesses caused by viruses. It is the most common type of illness that affects people all around the world. Symptoms of common cold are:

HOW IS COLDS DIAGNOSED?
Diagnosis of colds may be done by a General Physician based on your symptoms. If severe throat pain accompanies colds then an ENT specialist may take a throat culture for diagnosing a throat infection. If you have symptoms of sinusitis, the doctor may order imaging tests for diagnosing the condition.
HOW IS COLDS TREATED?
There is no cure for the common cold and it lasts for 7-10 days and subsides on its own without treatment. There are various ways to help recover easily which are:
• Getting plenty of rest
• Drinking fluids
• Gargling with warm salt water
• Using cough drops or throat sprays
• Taking over-the-counter pain or cold medicines
