Allergic rhinitis is a symptom associated with problems affecting the nose. It occurs when a person breathes something that he is allergic to like dust, pollen, etc. These symptoms may also occur when the person eats something he is allergic to. It is commonly known as hay fever or seasonal allergy. The symptoms are running nose, watery eyes, frequent sneezing, itchy nose, mouth, eyes, throat or skin.

Allergic rhinitis is diagnosed by the ENT specialist. He will perform a physical exam and ask a few questions about the condition. A few tests may be suggested like skin testing, RAST tests and CBC test to help detect the allergy.
