The term Sports Injury is used for defining a set of injuries that happens because of playing sports. It usually involves the tear of a muscle, damage to ligaments and tendons, tissue tear or even severe kind of internal damage. Sports injuries start off with either a mild or shooting pain that continues to get worse with time. In some cases, there is also swelling and inflammation and other similar symptoms.

Treatment depends on the kind of injury one suffers from. In some cases, NSAIDS along with anti-inflammatory ointment helps. Bandaging and plastering could be required. In other cases, doctors would advise strict bed rest along with physiotherapy. Surgery is required in extreme cases.
