It is a psychiatric disease and Panic disorder is different from the normal fear and anxiety reactions to stressful events. Panic disorder is a serious condition that strikes without reason or warning. Symptoms of panic disorder include sudden attacks of fear and nervousness, as well as physical symptoms such as sweating and a racing heart.Underlying Causes of Panic Genetic Predisposition The first is that there is almost certainly a genetic predisposition to panic attacks. Some people are born likely to develop panic attacks under the right circumstances, and some people couldn't have a panic attack if you paid them. We're all born with a variety of innate tendencies. If you have panic attacks, this is one of yours. Anxious trends during childhood A second reason why people develop panic attacks is that as children, they may have grown up in an atmosphere which, for one reason or another, failed to teach them that the world was "their oyster", a safe place in which they could happily pursue their own enjoyment. Maybe there was an early death in the family, severe illness, or some other serious problem like alcoholism or divorce. Maybe the parents were themselves anxious and over protective, perhaps in response to their own anxiety disorder. Perhaps the child learned to spend too much time and effort taking care of others, trying too hard to please others, and feeling responsible for the happiness of others. A Response to the challenge of emerging adulthood The third reason why people develop panic attacks is that they often experienced a period of high stress and stressful changes in the year or so prior to the onset of the panic attacks. These might have been bad events, such as feeling trapped in a bad job or relationship, or experiencing the loss of family and/or friends. Or they may have had a lot of changes which weren't bad in themselves - finishing school, changing jobs, getting married, moving, buying/selling a home, having babies, etc. - but which had a cumulative stressful effect on the person to the point that he/she

Don't allow your mind to wander but bring the mind under control of your self with help of your intelligence. If you control your mind your mind can be your best friend but if you do not control your mind your mind can become your worst enemy, you should also do transcendental meditation. How meditation affects health? it has been scientifically proved that meditation not only helps the mind but also body because controlled mind and purification of consciousness leads to better lifestyle and improved habits of food, sleep etc which in turn leads to better overall health. Most diseases have their roots in uncontrolled mind and impure consciousness. So do transcendental meditation by finding and reading iskcon books, either from internet and/or from your nearest iskcon center. Hope this helps,

Sir I smoke weed joint only on weekend is it will harm me or I can continue with it? I studied on internet dat smoking weed is not harmful as compare to others?

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd
Psychologist, Bangalore
The problems with addictive substances like weed is that over time your tolerance for it will develop and you will need more of he substance to get the same effect. So there is no guarantee that you can stick with this control. Not much is known about its entertainment value or benefits. There is a lot of hype by those who want to legitimize it and those who love it: there is a bias because of their selfish motives. The antagonists on the other hand willfully propagate the dangers, sometimes without substantiated reasons to dissuade its use. If you know it is harmful why would you want to play with it. The obsession and compulsive use is when you become addicted to the substance. Now we all spoke the same language: we can stop whenever we want, it is not addictive, it is fun after all, there are so many medical benefits etc. All meant to justify the consumption. There are so many other healthy ways to be creative or to stimulate the creativity in you; and there are so many ways to ‘open’ your mind. Why choose the easy way out when it is a chemical way out? Just for your information here’s what WebMD has to say: ‘No matter how it gets into your system, it affects almost every organ in your body, and your nervous system and immune system, too. When you smoke pot, your body absorbs THC right away. (If you eat a baked good or another item, it may take much longer for your body to absorb THC, because it has to break down in your stomach before it enters your bloodstream). You may notice changes in your body right after you smoke. The effects usually stop after 3 or 4 hours. Smoking pot can increase your heart rate by as much as two times for up to 3 hours. That’s why some people have a heart attack right after they use marijuana. It can increase bleeding, lower blood pressure, and affect your blood sugar, too. We don’t yet know if marijuana is linked to higher odds of getting lung cancer. But the process does irritate your lungs -- which is why regular pot smokers are more likely to have an ongoing cough and to have lung-related health problems like chest colds and lung infections. Other physical effects of marijuana include: • Dizziness • Shallow breathing • Red eyes and dilated pupils • Dry mouth • Increased appetite • Slowed reaction time (If you drive after using marijuana, your risk of being in a car accident more than doubles.) If you’re a long-time user, you can have physical withdrawal symptoms -- like cravings, irritability, sleeplessness, and less appetite -- when you stop.’ It being a hallucinogen, it can lead to hallucinations and even a phenomenon called ‘cross hallucinations’ i.e. for example, you can see sounds and hear colors!!! Please discontinue soon and live healthily until the scientific world comes up with concrete benefits, if an, about smoking weed.

To quit drinking he needs to take medicine. However it is very evident that he won't agree to take the medicine if he comes to know about it. You have to administer the medicine for alcohol de-addiction without letting him know. So the medicine should be colourless, odourless, tasteless. For this purpose Homeopathy has an excellent remedy. The remedy not only fulfills the criteria of being colourless, odourless & tasteless but at the same time it is fully soluble in water. You just have to add 20 drops of the medicine to every litre of water. Just keep a separate bottle for the patient. Add 20 drops of the medicine to each litre of water. For example if the bottle contains 2 liters of water then add 40 drops of the medicine. Now whenever the patient asks for water give him that particular medicine mixed water. He will easily drink 2 litres of water in 24 hours. Thus you will be able to administer the medicine for de-addiction of alcohol without even letting him know. You can even give him this medicine mixed water to prepare his peg if he drinks alcohol at home. A quick response is noted in patients who have taken 60 drops of the medicine daily. Now note down the name of the medicine. The medicine is Homeopathic Mother Tincture ACID SULPH Q. You can find it at any Homeopathic Medicine retail shop. Just buy a 100 ml pack for one month. You will able to notice a difference within 10 days of starting of the medicine if you can administer the medicine as 60 drops daily. This medicine will reduce his craving for alcohol without producing any type of side-effects.

hi, I can understand your feelings. Ragging is a big cause of depression for any human being. First thing you should protest against it but if it is unavoidable and if it happens then tell yourself that you don't have control over others behavior and their behavior does not have the power to affect your inner peace. If something happens physically like you mentioned then just think that your body is just a tool nothing else. This thought will give you the strength to overcome any sort of depression. Give yourself the auto suggestion always that I'm a very strong person and nothing can disturb my inner peace. This auto suggestion will control your emotions and feelings during and after ragging.

Lately when my parent came to know doctors prescription tryptomer they are not allowing me take tablet which is leading to sleep depreciation. How can handle this.

If you have not been responsible with yoru life, it looks like then someone else has to take care of you. You need to be thankful that they are still around to take this responsibility. You must also go for counseling and discuss various matters of your problems with your depression and as well as your difficulties with your parents. The counselor will be able to determine whether your parents have exceeded their responsibility. Your problem is serious and you will need continuous suicide supervision until someone, like a counselor, who has worked with you can assure your parents that you are free of your suicide drive. In the meantime please do the following sincerely because you could resolve the problem better with good cooperation: Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber, nuts, avocado, exercise regularly, eat dark chocolate, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. I suggest you do the opposite of what this depression makes you feel like doing (actually, not doing): you will need to fight this condition. You must become active; stay upright during the daylight time; meet people; never sleep during the day, wake up by 6 am every day, play some active games, especially contact games, do physical exercises, talk to people and join some social clubs, attend Yoga classes etc. Watch sitcoms on TV or comedies and cheer yourself up. Go for excursions in groups, for outings, camps, conferences, and religious conventions. Get a pet dog and spend time training it, exercising it and relating to it. Expose yourself to some sunlight every day, at least, 30 minutes but not in the scorching heat. Whatever happens, please incorporate these three important adaptations in your life: always be responsible, be respectful, and be functional. If you did these three, lots of things will go well in life. Please pray and have faith in God to alleviate your sufferings. Don’t wait for others to help. Use your own motivation, which might be at its lowest, but persevere and win this battle. Above all to be really happy, you need to live in love and for love. Learn all about emotions and how to handle them and that will get you out of the depression rather easily and quickly. A counselor is there only to facilitate you, all the hard word must come from you, and your cooperation with that person is very critical for your success. Be positive every day and learn to be contented with what you have. Do some left brain exercises: it is the happy brain. Here are a few suggestions: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. Whatever happens please cooperate with the therapy and do not discontinue until the condition is completely resolved.

Dear lybrate-user. Congratulations on your quitting smoking. You did not smoke for two months. That is great. Your body starts the repairing process immediately on quitting smoking. It takes 6 months to one year for your body to repair your lungs fully. In the mean time, t augment the repair process, please drink plenty of fruit juices and liquids, exercise hard, eat nutritional food etc. There will not be any serious illnesses. Body will repair even if there is anything. Take care.

Dear Lybrate user. I can understand. Studying in the morning is best. Memory and mind power depends on three aspects. Understanding, retention and recollection. Recollection is easy if your retention is proper and flawless. Retention is possible when you are able understand what you read or learn. To understand you should have concentration. Concentration comes from effective learning techniques based on creative and active learning. Physical exercise, outdoor games, entertainment, socializing coupled with systematic learning improves your memory and mind power. Vegetables, fruits and nuts are perfect for memory. Brain games like sudoku and jigsaw puzzles helps too. Avocados, Beetroots, Blueberries, Broccoli. Celery, Coconut Oil, Dark Chocolate etc are good for improving concentration and memory. I suggest online education counseling. Take care.

Super Fact of the Day: You can hold a person's hands to beat stress!

If you're loved one or friend is stressed out, reduce his stress by holding that person's hands. Research has found that holding hands can significantly reduce a person's stress levels as it lowers cortisol (stress hormone) production, and increases the production of oxytocin, the love hormone.
