What are the symptoms of diabetes. Most of the time I am scared of this disease and wants to know the exact symptoms of diabetes. How many years are there for a diabetic patient to live healthy?

Dear lybrate user the main symptoms of diabetes is large quantity of urine and frequent urine. There will be a feel of sweet coating over tongue. The life span of diabetic patient depends upon the maintainance of his diet and life style and the severity of the disease.

Hello, Soda has basically empty calories and is, potentially dangerous to weaken your bones, erode the enamel of the tooth and it is, also, linked to cause dreadful diseases, like cancer. An occasional indulgence is fine, but ensure it is not taken everyday under any circumstances.

Hi all, I need your advice badly as am feel so scared I have had a surgery to remove fibroids in October and last week my pregnancy test came out positive. My problem now isn't Tommy looks like that of a four months pregnancy that people already started guessing I'm pregnant. I'm afraid because.

If your abdomen looks like 4 mnth pregnancy, it must be because of fat deposition over abdomen. So need not worry. Still, have your ultrasonography done to get rid of your confusion.

Hello, as regards diabetes it is essential to control blood sugar as close as possible to normal. Fasting should be around 100 mg, pp should be 150 to 160 mg and hba1c% <7 (ideally <6.8%). About cervical and lumbar pain it is better to consult an orthopedician and get it assessed/ if certain physiotherapy is suggested then that should be followed. Most often certain exercises do help in improving those conditions. Even effectively controlling diabetes also improves those conditions considerably.

I am wondering why my microalbumin is 12 mg/L for a random/spot urine sample. Is this an elevated, but within normal result? Anything to be worried? I see most of them getting a result of <2 mg/L while mine is 12 mg/L for spot/random urine sample. Pls let me know. Pls note: I am taking glycomet 500 for my sugar since a week per my doctors prescription.

Hi lybrate-user you definitely have high microalbumin in your urine. Causes can be 1. Diabetic nephropathy. That is reduced kidney function due to diabetes as you already mentioned you have. 2. High bp 3. Urine infection to name a few. To know about what is your cause in particular you have to get some tests done meanwhile take less protein in your diet and get your bp checked.

I have a desk job for 2 years and my weight gone from 60 kgs to 80 kgs. What should I do to reduce weight?

Hi, you should go for brisk walk in the morning and evening. Do regular exercise atleast 20 minutes. Take lukewarm water with lemon in the morning. Take salad before meals. Drink more water in a day. Don't take rice at night and don't skip breakfast. Avoid junk food and oily food. Take small and frequent meals.

Best way to reduce fat is exercise and diet control....take pranacharya medohar rasayn twice a day....medohar guggul 2-2 twice a day....and pranacharya slim capsule 1-1 twice a day...avoid junk food...oily food...fermented food..alcohol consumption..sugar....milk products and sweets....take oats and cereals more..and do pranayama early in the morning and walk for atleast 45 minutes a day...and do exercises....dont sleep immediately after taking meal...

Due to lots of health issues like diabetes, BP and their side effects and weight gain due to insulin n medicines. I feel like I am in depression as I can see all the symptoms. Could you please suggest something.

As you have so many physical complaints, it is very likely that you can suffer from depression. Start some meditation yoga. It will help you alot. But if problem persists you have to be started on antidepressants.

Hi, according to your height your weight is too high. Your ideal body weight is around 55 kg. But you r pregnent so will increase weight slowly. Take lukewarm water with lemon in the morning. Include more fruits, sprouts and vegetables in your diet. Take salad before meals. Drink more water in a day. Avoid junk food and oily food. Take frequent meals instead of 3 big meals.

Which fruits are good and which are bad for people with diabetes? I once came across a GI (glycemic index) chart at a doctors chamber and read that grapes are low in GI but watermelons are high which contradicts doctor's opinion. So are fruits with low GI really good for diabetic people?

All fruits are good for diabetics. Only you have to take them in specified amount. Fruits contain mainly fructose, which is inert sugar and very less glucose. Fruit juice is not allowed.

First you should follow low calories food for weight loss. * in morning, take 1-2 chapattis with a bowl of cooked green vegetables. You can take a glass of lemon water with it. *in lunch you can take a bowl of raw vegetables like carrot, radish, tomatoes, turnip or beetroot. *in evening, you can take a cup of green tea only with some pieces of friuts like apple, pineapple, pear. Avoid taking banana or mango. *in dinner, you can take vegetable soup or a bowl of cooked vegetables. But do not take potato, sweet potatoes. * you can take a cup skimmed milk 4 times a week only during day time. * work out for atleast 1 hour in morning, you can try skipping for 15minutes with a walk of 30 minutes and 5-10 minutes running. Follow these exercises in the morning - * lie down on flat surface, raise your legs without bending your knees, do it for 3-5 times daily. * do not eat fastfoods and soft drinks, as they have high calories and the calories deposit in body in the form of weight if not utilised.

Hi Lybrate User, Firstly never give up on your efforts to stay fit. 1. It is unfortunate that many Gym Instructors are just body builders with no idea about Body Physiology and the Science Behind Weight Reduction. 2. Please do not rely on such Gym Instructors. 3. There is nothing such as Fat Burner. It is just waste of money and time. There is no medicine, herb, mix, that can burn fat. 4. Fat can only get eliminated through a balance of sensible eating and proper exercise. 5. Dieting is usually a wrong approach. People tend to give up Roti and stay hungry and in the evening eat one biscuit packet and a samosa. 6. Get a healthy nutrition plan. Eat more fruits and veggies and salads. 7. Drink one glass of water every hour from waking till 8 pm. 8. Cut down on outings. .malls. .parties. Popcorns. Burgers. Pizzas. 9. Get a complete body check with Sugar/Liver/Thyroid/Cholesterol/BP etc profile done. In case there is any other problem you will get to know. 10. Change your exercise. Make it more intensive. Visit youtube and try to copy/do 20 min intensive Aerobics. Join a Zumba/ Aerobics Class. 11. You are trying to lose weight. But the methods are all wrong. Thats why its not working. 12. Get proper advice.
