You had relief with one epidural injection for long time. You should again go for another epidural injection, it will benefit you in following ways: 1. Give you good pain relief without side effect of painkillers. In a year, maximum 3 epidural injections can be taken. 2. With good pain relief you can easily carry out physiotherapy and exercises for rehabilitation. 3. Inflammation associated with disc bulge will decrease and you will avoid surgery. Thank you for writing to us. Please follow the below recommendation for your conditions: Bananas are full of calories and contain high amount of carbohydrates and potassium that give you instant energy. Whosoever want to gain weight must eat a banana daily in the morning with a glass of warm milk. Add a teaspoon of sugar in it. Moreover, you can also have it after your meals. Note – Don’t eat bananas when you are down with common cold. Do morning walk/exercise regularly. Take good sleep. Try to maintain a routine of your work. If there is a history of Jaundice/Dysentry etc that needs to be treated. For further queries get back to me.

Stick to whole foods loaded with nutrients. To gain healthy weight, eat food that?s nutrient rich and nourishing.[3] While you could easily gain weight by drinking sugary sodas and eating large pizzas every day, this can wreck your metabolism and cause you to gain fat instead of muscle. When you?re choosing food to eat, try the following Focus on protein, fats and carbohydrates. These are the three staples that will help you gain weight, and you need plenty of each of them to stay healthy. Focus on incorporating protein, fats and carbohydrates into every meal you eat so your diet stays balanced. Here are some examples of good choices in each category: ? Proteins: eggs, salmon, tuna, and other fish;, and ham; chicken breasts and thighs; lean and steaks. ? Fats: olive oil, safflower oil, coconut oil, and grapeseed oil; avocados, walnuts, almonds, flaxseeds. ? Carbohydrates: fruits and vegetables; beans, lentils, peas; brown rice, whole grain bread, whole grain pasta and other whole grain products; honey and fruit juice.

You are having type 1 diabetes and are on the correct regimen of insulin. type 1 diabetics require to compulsorily take insulin thrice a day. although there are insulins avaliable which are effective for the entire day, just taking that one shot wont be enough in your case and you may land up with complications. People who are on one shot of insulin in a day are having a completely different type of diabetes, one in which tablets are also useful.

Hye. Laziness is in your head. It's just that you are idle. Try to involve yourself in some sport or other hobby. Eat smaller and frequent meals so that you avoid long gaps and then later don't get craving for junk. Drink lot's of water.

Hye, Thanks for the query. Gaining weight requires you to eat more calories than you burn. Although fried or sugary foods are calorie dense, eating them exclusively won’t provide enough nutrition to keep you energetic and healthy. Eating several meals and snacks throughout the day and including nutritious, calorie-dense food will help you gain weight healthfully. Weight gain depends primarily on your genetics, age, weight and activity level. To gain weight, you need to eat more calories than you burn. If you’re not used to eating large quantities of food at one time, you may find it difficult to fit all of your calories into three meals per day. Eating nutritious, calorie-dense foods every two to three hours will help you get your calories in without making you overly full and sluggish. If you tend to forget to eat or are always on the go, bring calorie-dense snacks such as eggs, mixed nuts, fruits and dairy. Nutritious, calorie-dense foods provide essential vitamins and minerals, which promote good health and energy. Adding ghee and cream to foods adds additional calories for very little extra physical bulk. Fruit juice, masala milk provides crucial nutrients. Meal-replacement shakes and protein powder sound like good options but also remember that unless your diet is not planned sadly they won't help.

Hello Rohini, This is too early to think about weight loss as you need to feed your baby. The best way is to eat healthy and your biological clock will do its work. Avoid eating deep fries, sugar loaded stuff, ready to eat foods. Focus on eating fresh, home cooked and easily digestible foods, like leafy greens, gourds, pumpkin, garlic etc. Garlic is both fat burner and lactation enhancer. so you should definitely try this. Eat smart that will help you. stay healthy stay fit☺

Dear, all of your conditions including hypertension are stress related. You are having stress, still. But you do not do any corrective measures. The best way to be away from stress is to exercise, being active and entertained. You are putting weight not because of stress, but because of your life style. Changing your life style should help you. You may post a private question to me. I will help you. Take care.

CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology, MBBS
Endocrinologist,
I have thyroid and my weight is 119kg. My question is how could I lose weight?
Hi at 119 kgs it is very tough to loose weight with diet and exercise. Unless of course one is taking very restrictive diet along with a good amount of physical exercise. Otherwise the best option now a days is" bariatric surgery" which ensures a definite weight loss. There are a number of top hospitals and surgeons offering this treatment now a days.

Note – Don’t eat bananas when you are down with common cold. 2. Peanut Butter -- Peanut butter is a yummy spread for toast and bread. If you’re trying to gain weight, feel free to go for this high-calorie and nutritious food. Apply it on your whole wheat bread for breakfast and see how your weight increases within a short period of time. • Besides, you can spread a spoonful of peanut butter on fruits or vegetables like banana, apple slices, fresh berries, wheat germ or applesauce. • Alternatively, a peanut butter sandwich is also a good choice. Hello, The food what and how you eat, makes the difference! For increasing your weight, concentrate on these points which helps in right way without harming your body if you don’t have any medical condition. - Consume more healthy fats. Foods containing healthy fats are full of nutrients and also high in calories, making them a great option for weight gain. Foods containing plant fats should be your first option - this includes items such as nuts, seeds, peanut butter, avocados and olive oil. Foods containing healthy animals fats include lean meats and full fat dairy products - although if you have high cholesterol, you should probably stick to low-fat options. -Eat more protein. Good sources of protein include lean meat, fish and poultry, in addition to eggs, whole grains, dairy products and legumes. -Drink more calories. Try drinking a large glass of orange juice in the mornings (along with your normal breakfast). Drink a glass or two of full-cream milk throughout the day.Protein shakes will help you to gain muscle mass, particularly if you're working out. -Have 6 small and frequent meals in a day. -Gain muscle mass. It's a good idea to continue to exercise while you attempt to gain weight the healthy way. Strength training includes working with weights and performing exercises such as squats, deadlifts, bench presses, bicep curls, crunches, chin-ups and leg curls. Just keep in mind that the more you exercise, the more calories you will need to consume to replace those you lost while working out. This is where protein shakes and bars really come in handy. -Quit smoking. As it suppresses the appetite. -Stay healthy. The most important thing through the entire weight gain process is to stay healthy - eating a balanced diet and continuing to exercise throughout. -Take enough of rest and sleep for rejuvenation of the cells and tissues. -Think Positive which will help you in achieving your target of gaining weight. -Avoid taking unnecessary stress/ tension. Medication: Take Schwabe’s Alfaalfa Tonic and Five Phos., both thrice daily ½ an hour before meals for 1month.
