Hi, there are two types of insomnia: primary insomnia and secondary insomnia. Primary insomnia: primary insomnia means that a person is having sleep problems that are not directly associated with any other health condition or problem. Secondary insomnia: secondary insomnia means that a person is having sleep problems because of something else, such as a health condition (like asthma, depression, arthritis, cancer, or heartburn); pain; medication they are taking; or a substance they are using (like alcohol). Sleep plays a vital role in good health and well-being throughout your life. Getting enough quality sleep at the right times can help protect your mental health, physical health, quality of life, and safety. In children and teens, sleep also helps support growth and development. The damage from sleep deficiency can occur in an instant (such as a car crash), or it can harm you over time. For example, ongoing sleep deficiency can raise your risk for some chronic health problems. It also can affect how well you think, react, work, learn, and get along with others. Management: here are five tips everyone can use to help improve the quality of their sleep: keep your bedroom cool and dark put away/turn off all electronic devices while preparing for bedtime stick to a regular bedtime and wake time every day, even on weekends stop drinking caffeine by the early afternoon and avoid large late-night meals skip the late-afternoon nap, as it can make it harder to sleep at bedtime avoid taking unnecessary stress/ tension. Do regular exercise. Go for a brisk walk in the morning. Medication: take schwabe's bacopa monierri 1x/ thrice daily and kali phos./ once daily at night for 1 month.

I am 50 years old male and suffering from depression for last 20 yrs. I have already checked up myself with top psychiatrists of Delhi but not getting well. Major issue of sleep disorder and unable to focus properly, feel as if my head is very tensed and not relaxed at all. presently I am taking medicines like alprax .5 twice a day. Lonazep md .5 twice a day and zolfresh 5 mg everyday at nights. Now pls suggest me how to get rid of this problem. Your answer is awaited. Thanks.

This the mistake a lot of [people make: not combining medication with therapy. 20 Years ago if you had started to combine, you would have been in a different situation altogether by now. Even so, it is not too late. Please the help fo a counselor and get some skills development and techniques to handle the daily challenges of one with depression. In the meantime please do the following sincerely because you could resolve the problem better with good cooperation: Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber, nuts, avocado, exercise regularly, eat dark chocolate, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. I suggest you do the opposite of what this depression makes you feel like doing (actually, not doing): you will need to fight this condition. You must become active; stay upright during the daylight time; meet people; never sleep during the day, wake up by 6 am every day, play some active games, especially contact games, do physical exercises, talk to people and join some social clubs, attend Yoga classes etc. Watch sitcoms on TV or comedies and cheer yourself up. Go for excursions in groups, for outings, camps, conferences, and religious conventions. Get a pet dog and spend time training it, exercising it and relating to it. Expose yourself to some sunlight every day, at least, 30 minutes but not in the scorching heat. Whatever happens, please incorporate these three important adaptations in your life: always be responsible, be respectful, and be functional. If you did these three, lots of things will go well in life. Please pray and have faith in God to alleviate your sufferings. Don’t wait for others to help. Use your own motivation, which might be at its lowest, but persevere and win this battle. Above all to be really happy, you need to live in love and for love. Learn all about emotions and how to handle them and that will get you out of the depression rather easily and quickly. A counselor is there only to facilitate you, all the hard word must come from you, and your cooperation with that person is very critical for your success. Be positive every day and learn to be contented with what you have. Do some left brain exercises: it is the happy brain. Here are a few suggestions: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. Whatever happens please cooperate with the therapy and do not discontinue until the condition is completely resolved.

Hello take alpha ha, 15 drops with water at the gap of 2 hours. Take kali phos 6x, 6 tabs twice daily and take sound sleep of 9 - 10 hours. You will feel better after getting up because you have headache due to lack of sleep.

From couple of days my right eye automatically started paining me. Its starts sometimes and even in while m in sleep. I sleep late at night 1-2 am daily. It seems that my nerve after my eye is paining. If I touch my eyebrow I can feel pain there also. Now what to do? Is there any medicine. Exercise. Therapy. For this. Suggest me. Please provide info in brief.

Dear l you:- you r suffering from refractive error. You need urgently complete correction of refractive error. Take complete bed rest 6-7 hrs in 11.00 pm onward, it will relieve your eye problems.

Tiredness might be due to deficiency weakness can cause pain in leg water intake should be increase. In diet add sprouts, almonds take berberis aqua thrice a day for 10 days thanks.

avoid day time sleep. avoid tea, coffee, cola in late evening and after,take healthy diet, avoid stress. 8 hours sleep is ok. 10 pm to 6 am is good timing.

I do not get proper sleep at night but once I get sleep then it will last longer till 11 am. Some time I slept on morning at 5 or 6 am. Is it any major problem or some thing else. I am happy to know the reason and solution from you Thanks Anmol batra.

Improper sleep is mainly said to be due to bata vitiation in AYURVEDA.do meditation and avoid vata aggravating diet like sour food.u can take capsule alert for some days

Hello Doctor I am 55 year old. Before 1 years I had multiple Hepatic Cysts in my left liver. After that I continued medicine. But now after ultrasound I found there is hepatomegaly with grade 1 fatty change. And also last time my cyst size was 45×48 mm but now its enlarged to 63×52 mm. Is there any problem or is this recuerd by surgery? Thank you.

Hepatic cysts in usg can be classified in two broad categories - simple or complex cysts. Simple hepatic cysts in liver with increasing in size of 1 cm over 1 year is not a problem. Complex cysts with increasing size of both liver and cyst - warrants further investigation. Grade I fatty change is seen in 60 - 75 % of the population - no need to get panic for this. Suggestion- I would suggest to do contrast enhanced ct (cect - triple phase abdomen) if not / mri liver. Since we do not know whether hepatic cyst is simple / complex.

Headache is because of loss of sleep. Because of insomnia there is chances of hyper acidity and this is one of the reason of headache. Take proper sleep. For 8 hr will cure your headache.
