You should get a colonoscopy (internal check up of the large intestines by a telescope) and a CT scan of the abdomen for further evaluation. Mesenteric lymph nodes are glands near the root of the intestines and may get enlarged due to several reasons - some trivial infections or more serious causes like tuberculosis & cancer. Get yourself investigated.

Is food poisoning related to intestine or stomach. And weather it is caused because of the rood side stuffs we eat or the food that is prepared in our home.

PGDHHM, MBBS
General Physician, Delhi
Food poisoning can affect both causing gastritis as well as gastroenteritis. It is usually caused by contamination of food. Hygiene is one of the main reasons of contamination that is why it is frequently found in case of road side foods. Home made foods are usually hygienically prepared but contamination can occur with it too.

Avoid outside spicy and fried food. Walk about 3-5 kms daily. There should be gap of 2hrs after dinner and sleep. Small and frequent meals is of help. Keep your blood sugar controlled. Raise your bed about 4" from headend side. Get your gastroendoscopy done. Tab nexpro-l 1 tab empty stomach.

I personally feel, your mother needs a thorough checkup. We need to find out 'why the condition Cholesterolosis and fatty - enlarged liver' has developed. Then only we can expect a complete cure. Most probably the causes may be wrong dietary habits and incorrect lifestyle. We should look into it on priority. Usually patient opts a medical advice for the complaint he/she is the most suffering from. Unfortunately; most of the time other associated symptoms which patient themselves consider of less importance are underestimated. Complaints like loss of apatite, constipation, excessive sweating, burning urination, if any need attention. A simple question whether she feels fresh when she wakes up in the morning can be correlated with her digestion. For pain in abdomen Carom Seeds with lukewarm water may help.
