I have pain in my finger joints over few days. I already checked uric acid level. But its normal. So I have a doubt it is a symptom of gout. Is it right. What I do next. And prefer which doctor?

Hi. One can have normal blood levels of uric acid during an acute gout attack so that is not an accurate test to diagnose a joint attack of gout. When the finger is painful, it is best to be seen by a hand specialist or a rheumatologist who can accurately diagnose and start the correct treatment. The only way to accurately diagnose a joint gout is to get some fluid from the joint and send it for testing under a microscopy. It is also important to make sure that we rule out lot of other conditions which can mimick like a gout attack. Please see an appropriate specialist in the regards.

Hello doctor I am 34 years old man I have swelling in right hand last three days what should I do? Please tell me.
Hi lybrate-user the causes of hand swellings can range from simple ganglion cysts, which can be observed to serious condition some nasty infection which require urgent treatment including surgery. With the limited amount of information given by yourself it is difficult to establish the nature of your issue and it best be discussed and seen by specialists in the field.

As the doctor may have explained to you, the tenosynovitis is inflammation of the lining tissue around the tendon. If the cause was infection, then sometimes it is worth taking care of it surgically. The role of physiotherapy, medication or surgery depends on the cause, the severity of the condition and the affection of your activities.

It is hard to tell just by the limited description given. I would recommend yourself to be seen by a hand specialist to rule out carpal tunnel syndrome (pressure on the nerve in the wrist), which can be treated initially with therapy but in some cases may require injections or surgical release.

I'm 18 years old male having a dislocated sternoclavicular joint. Please help me.

I'm 18 years old male having a dislocated sternoclavicular joint. Please help me.
As doctor kumar said, mild variety of sternoclavicular dislocations do not need surgical treatment. This is a relatively less common injury. The 6 grades mentioned by Dr. Kumar may be for acromioclavicular dislocation. Sternoclavicular dislocations have three main types- simple sprain, partial dislocation and complete dislocation. The treatment depends on the type and the direction of the dislocation.
