If its post traumatic optic nerve atrophy as you have mentioned, it means the capacity of the optic nerve of your left eye to carry vision to brain has reduced to great extent and the chances of recovery are almost negligible. You can send me all your reports personally if you want so that I can take a look at them and can explain you better.

Check your eye sight for refractive error and also rule out sinusitis or migrane as the cause of headache

Sir ayurvedik upchar se squint eye ki problem bina surgery ke theek ho sakti hai kya.
No Sir, It can't be treated by any medicine. But I have seen cases who have improved through eye exercises done in south. (don't remember the name exacty). You would have to stay there and they will teach you some eye exercises and give some diet accordingly. You can try that. And if not corrected, then there is always the last option of surgery present.

Please tell me the...
Redness of the eyes has multiple causes associated with it. To enumerate a few common causes: (1) allergy of the eye. It is usually caused by improper eye hygiene. There is a tendency to rub the eyes with fingers, handkerchief, cloth, etc. This is not a good habit because it tends to transmit lots of virus, bacteria and dust into the eye. Allergy usually presents with symptoms of watering (clear water), redness and itching of the eye. (2) infectious conjunctivitis: this is usually associated with white-yellowish discharge. If so, it would be a good idea to go and show to an eye specialist in person. (3) foreign body lodged in the eye. This is more commonly associated with people who drive 2 wheeler vehicles without protection. It occurs more commonly in one eye. Foreign bodies that commonly get lodged are eyelashes, insect wings, small insects, dust particles, iron particles (more common with people working in the iron industry) the solution for a foreign body lodged in the eye would be better provided by an eye specialist at the clinic. (4) raised intraocular pressure: this is a condition known as glaucoma. It is not so common as the previous mentioned conditions. There is usually associated pain in the eyes. It is commonly bilateral (occurs in both eyes). There is usually a positive family history of glaucoma associated in a majority of the cases. (5) inflammation of the coats of the eyeball. This is known as" uveitis" it is also a relatively less common condition. There is associated pain. It would require a thorough eye checkup including the retina-thus a good idea would be to visit the eye specialist in person. (6) increased blood pressure. This has known to cause redness which is also known as sub-conjunctival hemorrhage. In this regard, a complete ophthalmic evaluation and a systemic evaluation is warranted. From the symptoms described by you, it seems more likely to be a case of allergy. Maintaining the precautions and hygiene that I mentioned should probably work well for you. You could also use a lubricant eye drop (refresh tears) along with an anti-histamine eye drop (olopat eye drop). (3-4 times daily) hope my suggestions helped you. Take care.

Hello. There is no medication or food for improving eye sight or to get rid of glasses. Get your vision tested and wear glasses. If not interested in glasses then you can try a. Contact lens b. Lasik laser as your age is now 24 years so your number will not increase now whether you wear glasses or not as number becomes stable at age of 18-20 yrs. Having said that I advise you to eat balanced diet including green vegetables and seasonal fruits for keeping eyes and body healthy. Lasik is a very easy and painless procedure. If you want to get rid of glasses then go for lasik.

Hello, it seems you are having allergy symptoms in your eye. This might be increasing after bath due to irritation of already sensitised eye tissues by hard water or soap. Make sure that no soap foam enters your eye while washing your face, also avoid splashing supply water in your eyes. Applying ice to the eyes is a good thing you are doing, this is infact suggested to sooth itchy eyes. Additionally always wash your eyes with clean drinking water whenever you come home from outside. If the symptoms persist try using an antihistamine eye drop.

I am 28 years old and since 4 years I had been suffering from various brain related problems like, dizziness, unconsciousness, balance and most importantly eye and eyesight problems. In last few years my eyes went from dry, itching to wet recently. I have consulted many eye doctors and found the eyes abosultely normal. I had MRI scan that too shows no significant problem. Then I see the neurophysicians and he found my b12 level very low in 200 range. So he gave me 20-25 infections and I took around 22. But I still feel Same with little improvement. Eventually now I started feeling issues with speaking, listening and seeing. One doctor recommended me to consult psychiatrist and he gave me one month dose in which mostly were sleeping pills. Please help me doctor to recover brain health as well as mental health. By birth I had no issues with eyesight and never had headache and no health issues until 24 but now because of personal issues I landed in depression. I was at London studying MBA when all such health issues started post a tragic gap year at home.

Lybrate-user, I have handle exactly similar patients many times. Solution to your problem is management of stress and lifestyle. You need to see a good holistic therapist who should guide you with yoga therapy. Your brain and mind is working overtime. Calm down, take an years break and settle your health. You have no organic disease. It's only the burden and cobwebs in your mind that is causing brain to declare war situation and hence dizziness. Until you get a good holistic doctor, start surya namaskar watching youtube.

I have started using contact lenses. Can you let me know the do's and do nots of using it.
Always Always wash your hands with a mild soap and dry them with a lint-free towel before touching your lenses. Always clean, rinse, and disinfect your lenses each time you remove them. Follow your eye care professional's instructions. Always handle the same lens first to avoid confusing the right and left lenses Always keep all solution bottles closed when not in use. Always clean your lens case daily and let air dry. Replace your lens case every three months. Always use solution before expiration date marked on bottle, or discard. Always remove contacts before you go swimming. Always carry your contact lens case along with a bottle of multi-purpose solution to have a safe place to store your lenses. Always schedule regular appointments with your eye care professional as he/she recommends. Never Never allow soaps, cosmetics, or other substances to come into contact with your lenses. Never touch the tip of a lens care solution bottle to any surface, including your finger or the contact lens. Never re-use any lens care solution. Never use eye drops or solutions not intended for use with contact lenses. Never wear your contact lenses in the presence of harmful or irritating vapors or fumes. Never wear lenses for more than the prescribed time. Never swap contact lenses with anyone. Never apply hairspray after putting your contact lenses on.

Diet for EYESIGHT Lutein and zeaxanthin are both important nutrients for eye health, 6 as both of them are found in high concentrations in your macula—the small central part of your retina responsible for detailed central vision. More specifically, lutein is also found in your macular pigment – known for helping to protect your central vision and aid in blue light absorption—and zeaxanthin is found in your retina. Estimated daily dose of lutein is 10 mg per day, and at 2 mg/day for zeaxanthin. Both lutein and zeaxanthin are primarily found in green leafy vegetables, although zeaxanthin is far scarcer than lutein. Kale and spinach are two of the most lutein-rich foods, but you'll also find it in carrots, squash, and other orange and yellow fruits and vegetables. Both lutein and zeaxanthin are carotenoids called xanthophylls, which give plants and vegetables their yellow-orange color, and the name" lutein" comes from the Latin word" luteus, which means" yellow. If you remember this, it may help you pick out vegetables that are likely to contain higher amounts of these two nutrients. Egg yolk is another source of both lutein and zeaxanthin that is well absorbed by your body Most of the dark green leafy vegetables, previously recommended for a higher intake of lutein and zeaxanthin, have 15-47 percent of lutein, but a very low content (0-3 percent) of zeaxanthin. Study shows that fruits and vegetables of various colors can be consumed to increase dietary intake of lutein and zeaxanthi It is also important to note that lutein is an oil-soluble nutrient, so if you eat the vegetables without some oil or butter your body can't absorb the lutein. Adding a little bit of healthy fat, such as olive oil, coconut oil, or raw organic butter, will maximize your lutein absorption.
